I was trying to test the automatic garage door stop sensor that we just had installed. So if one of our kids was accidentally walking underneath the garage door while it was coming down, it would stop itself automatically and not squish him.

I tested it out using one of my legs at first, and it stopped perfectly. Then I tried using one of my arms, and once again it recognized the object underneath it and stopped. Then I wanted to see how small the object underneath it would have to be before the door no longer recieved the signal to stop closing.

I tested it out with a finger and it didn’t stop closing so then I just gradually increased the girth up to see where the doors limit was. Two fingers, no luck still didn’t stop. Three fingers worked, it did stop. So I knew the limit was somewhere in between the girth of two and three of my fingers. So… I tested the door with something in between those two widths to see if it would stop. It didn’t stop.
