I really wanted to like this PES; it's pretty, the demo felt slick and different from 2018, but when you get into the bulk of it, it's just the same old end to end, unresponsive piss take of a game it's always been.

I'll sink in a hundred hours into it for sure, but will I be having fun for most of them?

I've played 100 hours of this and haven't enjoyed a single one.

Let me say this first, this is the best football game ever made.

When I played the demo, I thought it was great. When I started playing, I thought it was great.
Now I understand it is the same piss poor malange of poor AI and scripting they delivered in 2014, completely bearable, but made excruciatingly difficult to manage through the horrendous KONAMI servers.

It is shocking how little KONAMI have done to sate their fans requests and needs, even taking a backstep with the game having LESS stadiums than in 2014. MyClub has so far been a shambles: KONAMI royally screwed up with the TOTY players, with players such has Ronaldo, Robben, Ribery and Bale who can all outpace your early game defenders with ease existing in nearly every team (due to the Day 1 bonus being given to nearly everyone in excess, including hackers/pirates (although perhaps not due to hacking, as a friend of mine recently bought the game, months after release, and still received 3 (Not one, 3) TOTY players as well as 2 Mario Götzes, as I suspect many of the star studded MyClub teams of today have also received.

The pass support and auto switch is wrong on many occasions, screwing up both intricate attacking plays, and hurried escapes your penalty box. Those of us who can't use manual should better learn now. Your team's AI, also, make poor runs (running away from the box, away from a sweaty/trampy goal etc.), make hardly any attempts to intercept the ball, and ruin your defensive line by using poor pressure and attempting a one man offside trap. Although these problems are somewhat remediable through adjustments of the game plan (impossible in MyClub), and manual controls, it is simply unacceptable for us, the player, to have to inconveniance ourselves to cover for KONAMI's lazyness.

First touches are poor, dribbling unresponsive much of the time, stats unreasonably low for non goliath sides, lack of modes, poor servers, poor goalkeepers, poor animations, poor non-preset player faces, poor customisation, and yet I still love this game, as it has some of the best passing play we've ever seen.
