Pros:
Nice retro art
Tight controls
Price

Cons:
Unfair deaths (offscreen kills, undodgable AI at times)
Clash of theme and gameplay
Use of arena combat doesn't quite fit mechanics
Difficulty needs balancing (doing well once makes future play become trivial)

Overall:
For the price, it's a buy, though be ready to be frustrated. Best played with a few friends swapping a single controller.

At 10 hours in I feel I have still barely scratched the surface of this game. Though the ruleset has changed, the look and feel of Baulder's Gate have been inherited in almost every way. The writing is amazing and your peanut gallery of a party always enjoys giving their two cents. I have yet to see what challenges are brought along with keep ownership, but I know being a money drain seems to be the first. Those of you familiar with this sort of pause-based gameplay will feel right at home. The part which grabs me the most, however, is the look and feel of the world: a Forgotten Realms aesthetic with what looks to be a splash of the first Diablo's darkness.

The spirit of Black Isle and the soul of Bioware seem to reside in Obsidian, and I can't wait to see what's on their horizon.
