The immersion of living as a mafia in New York/San Francisco, the driving, the music, the character (Paulie is obviously my favorite since the start), the story, it's a whole playable and immersive movie. I highly recommend this game.

The best scene was when Tommy came back home to his wife from a bloody job (it feels immersive too, you really feel the comfort of "coming home to your wife after a long day" because that was a hard mission), he opened the door and have this blank stare. She said "you're late dinner's cold" all angry while reading a magazine, but when she looked up at Tommy, she immediately knew what's up, she walked and took his coat, notices blood, and simply hugged him without saying anything. A masterpiece of a scene.

Another awesome detail is this hilarious time when everyone sitting in crates during planning while crew kept taking them out one by one until the mafia boss who sits on the crate, the crew paces back and forth like he wanted to take it but Sam just lightly raised his hand like "not now" all this happening in the background while we're mid-conversation, I love details like this. Because the context was we're running out of supply and they communicate this with things like that to emphasize on the scene.

I also love how the timeline worked, how they show present day then flashback to gameplay, it deepens the feeling even more, and gets you hooked to see what's next up until the present day.

Early Access Review
Not gonna lie I thought this game was a slop.
But this game reignited my FIRE of gaming 6 hours straight, I was fully LOCKED IN.

This is literally my dream video game. I used to install the "Become a Skooma Dealer" mod in Skyrim, and the concept there is so good, especially how you can gradually get the customer addicted and set the price higher and HIGHER.

The movement is so satisfying too, the skateboarding was so perfect, reminds me of that Simpsons skateboarding game, skating around the city, but dealing drugs now.

10/10.

All of this and the game was still in Early Access? I'm really excited on what the updates or future DLC the devs bring into the game soon!

They finally added steam achievements after 9 years.

It's a good reason to finally live back the memories of my middle-school days of fantasizing being Edward Kenway and doing "parkour" in school to skip class while wearing a hoodie to imitate the assassin look, and also fake "assassinating" friends with an imaginary hidden blade if they didn't see us coming.

This game is my introduction to the Assassin's Creed franchise, and arguably the best one at it.

The progression in the game is also enjoyable, from hiding and scared in the sea to absolutely indestructible pirate ship that destroy European ship like it's nothing (Just like Blackbeard said in the trailer).

Playing it back now in 2025, I wished the combat is better though, but that's because I already tried Valhalla and the combat there is so good, and also Unity finishing moves is also the best, but I digress, this game is ahead of it's time, it's not fair to compare it to future games, so I played this first before jumping in to the next Assassin's Creed game.

And to mention again, the steam achievements really adds more replayability value to the game, kudos to the devs for that.

This game revived my enjoyment of playing video games again, the friction of just picking up my handheld and playing this game is so small that it's so effortless and enjoyable.

Just a fair warning though, I played this game so much in a row that I started seeing cards when I close my eyes, I'm not even joking.
