Depression simulator. The interactions are too short. Impact is sacrificed under the guise of safety. After a few days it feels like a sea of negativity with little reason to trudge through.

Some genuinely cool ideas though -- participating and listening to conversations is fun. The idea of responding to a letter is great but it would be nice if the thread of communication could be left open if both parties consent, pen pal style. Keep it anonymous and let either party drop the conversation.

Refunded after 10 minutes. The graphics are awful even on Ultra. Horrendous pop in, scale is off, aliasing everywhere. Swords are hilariously large, player's hands hilariously small. Combat lacks impact and feels sluggish. For those with Oculus hardware, it does not run native Oculus and requires SteamVR middleware.

Early Access Review
An unoriginal mess of half-baked systems. Environments are unnecessarily cluttered. Glitchy movement. Boring character progression that is all about incremental bonuses (+5% damage) rather than new abilities. Not worth the price of entry currently.

I'll be checking back in six months as I think the devs hearts are in the right place, but the game needs serious work.

Beautiful. If you liked Bastion or Transistor, you owe it to yourself to experience Pyre.

I didn't particularly like the core gameplay of Pyre, but the story, art, music, and decisions you have to make were more than enough to keep me satisfied. The world is dark and you carry a heavy burden, but it isn't without some humor and light moments.

I'm guessing this will be the least well received of SGG's games, but still worth your time. I felt justified at $20, and anything less than that is a steal.

Lovely and somber. The new art is lush and meshes well with the gravity of the story. Short and to the point. Absolutely worth the money and time.

Lovely short VN! ~4hr playthrough. The music, art, and writing compliment each other well. Story is dark and finishes on a strong note.

I love Voices from the Sea, but this game does not quite live up to it's predecessor. There are about 3 hours of content here (being generous) but each "run" is only ~30 minutes long. I found it annoying to need to replay the game this many times to see subtle differences.

The music is good but gets cut off frequently before the track can finish. The most notorious time this happens is during the "Day 2" title card, which awkwardly divides a tense scene in half. In general the pacing is a bit wonky.

I believe there is a "true" route once you collect all 30 fragments, but I haven't been able to find the last one. The game offers no hint as to what scenes you are missing, and I've almost exhausted my patience.

The story is good, but I would have honestly enjoyed it more as a properly paced kinetic novel. I hope Zeiva can learn from this title and mature as storytellers.

Verdict: grab it during a deep sale.

Lovely experience. I doubt it will have much staying power, but expect to see users flock back to the server after an update.

Steep learning curve (similar to something like Blender) but rewarding once you learn how it wants you to think. Highly customizable.
