CarX Street for MacOS Tahoe on Mac Mini M-Series

CarX Street is one of those smaller games that is as good or better than you may have hoped before playing it. From the gameplay to the visuals and customization, CarX Street is a fantastic journey into the open-world car racing genre.

VISUALS
The visuals are superb for a game of this size. Long sight-lines and a large map make this game a blast to explore. Cars, modifications and the map make for a lot of lovely wasted time. Playing for hours at a time just exploring the landscape. When it comes to the cars, being able to create your own vision and see it drive down the road is spectacular. The camera feature makes this feel so worth your time. So many beautiful places to get lost in and take a few photos. Nice touch!

AUDIO
The audio is a bit of a mixed bag, but definitely on the higher end. The engine sounds are good, but the engine backfires pop to life and make it worth having a good audio system. Bass rumbles! The atmospheric audio is good also. Tire contact with different road and land materials always let you know whether you need to take it easy or hold down the accelerator.

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay feels great and learning each of the vehicles nuances makes for a learning experience for sure. It can be so satisfying when you get the grip knowledge needed for races and drifting. The sense of accomplishment as you modify and tune each vehicle is worth the price of admission in my opinion. Something the dev team really seems to understand.

CONTENT AND VALUE
Now, full disclosure, I purchased the game and all the DLC. But for the amount, I have zero regrets. Being a Mac gamer, I am sure there are many games in the racing arena that I am not able to play that Windows players can. But having this one in the arsenal is fantastic in my opinion. It's just that good on the Mac side. With limited choices, this one is a no-brainer for Mac gamers. If you like NFS and games like it, this is the one for you.

CLOSING
I appreciate that Carx Tech allowed this game to be available for MacOS as it fills a gap on the platform. Keep up the good work.

Let me preface this with...... I am a MacOS gamer and my favorite FPS on the Mac platform has been Combat Master, the other game by Alfa Bravo. For some, this may disqualify my opinions and that is fine. MacOS has seen a lot of newer games come to the platform in the past year or so, but CM and WWL are amazing in my opinion. I absolutely love both games. World War Legion is essentially a WW2 version of Combat Master. AS I ALSO WISH IT HAD BEEN AN UPDATE TO THE CM GAME, I do not think the fact that the game was released as a standalone project is detrimentally negative to either game. There is a bit of understanding a separate era themed game being a standalone in this case in my opinion.

I definitely understand the frustration from many as Alfa Bravo have seemed a bit disconnected at times from the players, but the game itself, on it's own, is good. Again, I am looking at this through the eyes of a MacOS gamer and in my opinion CM and WWL are the best FPS experiences currently on the platform, even with the AAA titles that are now showing up on Mac. They are just a lot of fun to play, both of them.

There is not a lot of content in WWL as of yet. But the fact that it is a new experience and it mimics for the most part, the great CM gameplay, I am fine with it.

I am hopeful that CM will see many updates in the future and that WWL will also see more content come to it soon. I just want to enjoy the games for what they are at this point. WWL is not a bad game. I truly believe that. I am having fun with it for sure.

Game runs very well on M-series Mac. Considering we do not have a native version of F1 2024 on Mac, this is an alternative and admittedly, I am enjoying it. It can be a bit wonky in the visuals as it is a mobile game, but in all honesty, it is a lot of fun also.

I am old, turned 50 this year, and my reflexes are terrible at this point. But this game allows a good deal of forgiveness, though the AI is a bit chaotic/robotic for the most part.

I think the visuals could use some love for sure. The audio is not bad and does a good job of letting you know where you're at and when to shift.

If the visuals were updated a bit, the PC/Mac version of the game would be quite the surprise to many. I do not mind the price tag for this game and I believe I am helping the developer one some level. I want this game to be as good as it can be, selfishly.

All I can say to the developer is.... Keep up the good work. My opinion does not matter at all in the grand scope of things, but I am really enjoying this game.

Oh... I am not sure why, but I downloaded the 2024 liveries for the game and when I import them, they do not map correctly. No big deal, but it would be sensational to have the new cars on the grid for this game.

Thank you.

Early Access Review
Ok, I admit that I have been a bit addicted to this game. MacOS has a few rally games to play, but in all honesty, this is my favorite. The art style, the gameplay and the amount of care shown by the developers is immense. As a Mac gamer, this is a must-have for anyone that uses their Mac as a gaming console. I am amazed by the attention to detail along with the amusing nature of the navigators. It all works brilliantly. Again, if you are looking for a rally/racing game on MacOS, this is it. Buy it. You will not be disappointed. And send out a big thank you to the developers for giving a crap about the MacOS platform. You rock!
