I wanted to try creating a small animated pixel ghost and I remembered seeing a pixel-art tool in Steam software category.
I quickly found Asesprite to be the one I remembered and bought it.

After a laughably small download I started the application to find myself staring at a retro style graphical drawing application.
At first it took me maybe 5 to 10 minutes to find the basic functions and start drawing, however I quickly discovered more functions while animating frames and checking different menu options and tool buttons.
I was surprised to discover the layer tools and realize I could move layers for more advanced workflow.
I also had some trouble trying to figure out how to change the backround color so I could check all my pixels against a plain colored backround.

Soon I had made a simple 7 frame animation of a cute ghost jamming.
After the animation was ready I could easily export the newly created animation into gif format.
All in all as a person who rarely uses graphical tools but has used Photoshop in the past, it was quite easy to learn Asesprite basics in an hour or so.

I feel this has been a good purchase and a useful program for creating pixel art.
I would highly recommend this product as a tool.

Immediately upon reading the first dialogue with the apparent subconscious mind of my character I knew I had an adventure in my hands.

This gut feeling was solidified when I tried to converse with a mail box and felt the happy dialogue bring my much needed sanity back to my character.

The writing is truly top notch and the art style feels universally similar throughout the game.

A promising prologue.

As the player steps into the shoes of our main character the game immediately surrounds him with a purposeful atmosphere familiar from old detective stories. You have a dirty apartment, some alcoholism, past work related injury and a dead body. On top of it all it keeps raining all the time.

In the prologue the player tries to make sense of the evidence surrounding a death of a housemaid.
The prologue quite short but yet rather captivating. We have a nice set of dialog, different characters, lots of objects to inspect and a generally atmospheric milieu. Some adult themes such as a dead body, pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol are included but hey, it's a detective game.

I felt the game was a fresh and simple return to the golden 90s of games when player was experiencing a story instead of just concentrating on running through a linear map with scripted cinematics to keep the player interested.
The controls of the game are simple. You have your cursor keys for movement, enter to continue dialog and number keys to select different options.
The game doesn't really guide you, but if you've played crime solving games you should not get stuck for long. I had a few moments when I had to think of what options I have not yet explored.
The game really succeeds in delivering the player something many games these days do not: an interesting interactive story.

Overall it's a good start for a nice game.
It's not AAA or anything, but since it's cheap and entertaining, I give it a 4/5.

Pros:
- Dark and gritty atmosphere
- Occultic references
- Adult theme
- Rains all the time
- Fast and effective resolution options

Cons:
- Short (still only a prologue)
- You can sometimes notice the backround rain ambient starting from the beginning
- Some (player) character lines could be visible for a bit longer

I will be interested to see what the following chapters bring with them.

When I played Half-Life for the first time, I was really afraid of headcrabs in the dark airducts.
Now I can add chairs and washbuckets to the list.

Saw some gameplay video of Infra pre-release and I really liked the way everything was modeled very lifelike and with understanding of what to include in details and what to dismiss as irrelevant.
I decided to buy the game and found it much to my liking.

If you enjoy puzzle games in the sense of walking around, picking up stuff and solving puzzles, then this game is a good choice.

Early Access Review
While still being in Early Access Alpha, this game is already trying to close the gap between the original Arma 2 Mod and the Standalone game. Currently, at the last days of the year 2013, the game already includes most of the functionality of the original mod and a lot of the bugs we've seen have been fixed.

As many of you might know, the DayZ game takes place in a post apocalyptic world where disease ridden population have become zombies, or zeds. You, as the player, take a role of a survivor among other survivors. You start with a few flimsy clothing and a flashlight. You're hungry, tired and thirsty. You must find shelter, food and supplies.

The Arma style sandbox experience is spot on for this type or game. You can roam around the maps freely, looting buildings and collecting more and more tools as you go on. You'll end up having close encounters with the zombies, bleeding out or surviving by stripping rags from clothing you find. You might make friends or even end up stabbed in the back by another player acting friendly.

Those who played the original mod remember such bugs as doors being too small to fit through properly, breaking your legs while going down the stairs too fast, zombies hitting you through walls and just plain old breaking your both legs when opening a door into your own face. Well, umm, most of those bugs are gone. Doors won't kill you and the player character seems to have learned how to climb stairs and descent ladders. Currently the zombies won't lose the line of sight to you so they'll follow you endlessly until you hack their faces off with a fire axe.

Vehicles are currently absent, and most of the lootable items are still missing their functionality. There are some great innovative additions though.

If you're wondering whether to buy the game in Early Access or wait for the main game, my advice to you is to consider if you can enjoy a game still in progress or if you want a finished product. I, as a fan of the original mod, found the Early Access version to be even better than I had hoped for. Such functionality, such engine, wow.

All in all, I'll be expecting the finished version eagerly.

Ever wondered if there would be a nuclear war which destroys the earth?
And if there would be, how would it play out?

Well. Now you can find out.

In Defcon, the players wage a nuclear war against powerful nations and the theatre is our globe.
In this atmospheric minimalistic style game you control bombers, missile silos, navy ships and submarines as you slip into your enemys terroritory and bomb their cities to oblivion.
The game can be played either casually or tournament style to spice up the excitement.

One of the best 4-player co-operative round based games.
If you've ever liked so called heist films where a group of robbers rob a bank, casino or - lets just say - a meth lab, you'll love PayDay 2.

Players form a crew of four and they pick out a mission. There are different approaches to each mission; stealth, full on or fast in & out. Each player has different abilities and items which they can customize during gameplay based on experience gained skillpoints and mission completion based cash fund. Players can specialize to be the mastermind behind the mission, the brute gunner "enforcer", the stealthy ghost or the technical guy with the turrets and hi-tech drills.

Best played with friends using headsets and communication.

EVERYBODY GET DOWN, THIS IS A ROBBERY.
