Wonderful Story, would love to see this game all the love it deserves!

So the first 4-6 hours are pretty fun and dandy but for the 'endgame' it's just a slog. To preface this but the dev mentioned in the discussion posts about that specific issue that she/he wants to keep the whole idle identity.

- This game has no offline progression which makes an idler really an idler...
- Idlers do have some progression after checkin in each day

What the endgame in this game is:
- Leave the game running open because no offline progress
- Wait for around 5 hours
- Get gifts / click them on the screen for 6-10 minutes straight
- Repeat this around 50-100 times to get 100% achievements or 4-5 times to get the ending.

So no, until those aspects are fixed I can't recommend it

Great to spend some time.
- Bugs that crashed the save are fixed
- Performance don't seem to be a problem for me personally and it seems smooth. Can't play on Ultra and had to remove the high quality textures though but don't notice it that much.

Restarted after the 1.0 release and pumped my hours from 20 to 400 (As of the time of this review)... finished my first playthrough and am currently on 2 Servers with different friends and alltogether just having a blast.

It might get overwhelming for some so it's not everyones cup of coffee but would definitely recommend everyone to try it out at least, if it gets you it gets you hard!

Really liked the vibe and gameplay! Hope there will be more of this.
It's relatively short though. 6hrs is enough to 100% so maybe wait for a bit of a discount.

Positives:

- A bit outdated of now (2022), would love to see a remake with current availabilities

Still an A+ game when it comes to rpgs / story-games. It still holds up to todays graphic (well, mostly, would love to see an update to 2022-standars and immediately buy it), the sound is just plain beautiful even if you just listen to it on spotify and it has some few funny references to square enix.

As much as I love this game, the negatives after playing again for around 30 hours again with the newest changes just outweights the positives...

My mostly negative points resulting in this review instead of a positive one:

+ The gameplay loop itself is so much fun, gathering materials, expanding your raft and getting through the story is all great.

- Islands are sometimes pretty big and you don't have a map to see where you're exactly, often resulting in the feeling of being lost and getting frustrated

- Drops / materials are distributed pretty much evenly, even though you need like 3x the metal than copper or planks to plastic. So get used to have way to much of one thing and way too less of the other

- Upgrading is, depending on how you play, frustrating as well. For example: We built a pretty nice raft and just got the last anchor-upgrade. Now the problem is it was bigger than the current one and we had to rebuild the entire section...

- The building itself is inconstistent as well. We had a pretty symetrical raft and still some buildables were possible to be built on the left side but not on the right side, like ♥♥♥♥ us I guess?

Overall for a (probably?) first game of the devs it's solid, but there's way too many small things that are just not fun which leads me to not recommending it as of the time being

Wont even start while using a second monitor with modern hardware so yeah...

So I'm gonna preset this review with the simple question "Would I recommend that game for a friend?"

And the answer is currently (28.10.2022) a hard NO.

First off, the game itself or let's say the idea behind the game is really fun. 1v4 whereas both parties have their objectives and have to go against eachother.
But, and here's the negative first:
- The majority is too toxic, on each side of the 1v4. There's just a neverending spiral of "They hurt me so I hurt them, (S)He hurt me so I hurt him/her"
- And mostly the devs... it doesn't matter if it's balancing around your perks (loadout), the killer itself or just listening to the community... As a programmer myself this game is so damn full of bugs and cheaters and whatnot, it's just sad to see

On the bright side, the positive:
- IF you have 1-3 friends, the game can be pretty fun with em if you don't take it too serious
- if you have none, but are a sadistic person, there's the killer-role for you
- And, it's really rarely, but the positive co-survivors or sometimes even the killer can make a huge impact on your experience with this game.

Still though, overall, I really wouldn't recommend it's game until the devs get their fingers out of the ass and just be a bit more involved in the community as a whole and do their jobs
