My original statement on release was that if GSC hadn’t sucked off Microsoft, Epic, and Nvidia by promising to showcase their “cutting-edge” ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they probably wouldn’t have secured any funding. The S2 we got is simply a product of that goal. Rather than focusing on making a proper game, they prioritized securing deals with major connections, hoping they had the financial backing to push their vision—one that would ironically be hijacked and bought, so now it’s less about STALKER and more about selling hardware.

The truth is, if this were the same GSC of old, they would have toned down the graphics, added what was cut in the past, and focused on A-life. They just would have made STALKER instead of an unplayable graphics showcase, tbh. Along with having to show-off Epic’s UE5, they sponsored graphics cards, worked with Nvidia, and promised Xbox “next-gen”; it was an obsession. S2 was built to sell hardware, just like most modern releases are trying to do. They are working with Epic, Nvidia, and Microsoft to test how much they can push the consumer to buy into what is artificially engineered planned obsolescence.

It was really a conspiracy, but now it’s obvious. The industry is being built around pushing unnecessary “upgrades”, and GSC fell right into it, hook line and sinker.
