This game is incredible. Im only even leaving this review to combat the new negatives reviews left by Divers salty because we as a community made poor decisions and then had consequences because of those poor decisions. This have is great, and Arrowhead is amazing. They listen to the community and are REALLY doing the most out here. Would recommend.

Its a fun game, I've been enjoying it so far, but its not without its faults.
The gameplay has exceptional depth for what it looks like on the surface, and a fairly significant learning curve.
That being said, the RNG is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at times. To be in the middle of an encounter 15 days into a campaign, being as cautious as possible, when for no reason you're struck by an artillery strike or air strike, and have your commander one shot or your tank destroyed and then not being able to bail out because you fail a check with an 80% chance of success 4 times in a row, and then your tank explodes.
Like I said, Its a very fun game, however it is also EXTREMELY unforgiving, although I suppose so is war.
If you're considering getting this game, its important to go in with this in mind, or you may become very frustrated very quickly.

An extremely cool game. I like essentially everything about it. The only reason i'm giving this a thumbs down is the RNG is truly awful. And I know many people would just say "Well just get good, learn how to play with buffs to your advantage". Which in many games i'd agree with. But there's absolutely no reason an opponent should dodge my attacks twice in a row when they only have 5% dodge and then turn around and hit me 3 times in a row while i have 45% dodge. There's no reason a creature with a bleed resist of 10% should resist bleed 5 attacks in a row. These are examples from the last 2 hours of gameplay. Rolls like this happen every single time a come back to this game, consistently. I really do like just about everything else though. The atmosphere, setting, gameplay, narration, graphics. Its all very good, but spending hours and 1000's of gold on a party upgrading and preparing and fine tuning with trinkets, just so they die because the game decided i'd get crit by every enemy in a random hall battle and then subsequently have each of my own attacks miss or be dodged several rounds in a row is extremely disheartening and disappointing for a game that I enjoy so much. I'll probably keep playing Darkest Dungeon, but if it doesn't already have you in its clutches, save your money.

An enemy ship jumped away with half my crew onboard. Gotta say, 10/10. Love this game.
