i know there was plenty to complain about at first, and we shouldn't let Sega's lazy hides off the hook, but i have such a good time with this collection. In between all the features, new cut scenes, playing as Amy and Knuckles everywhere and all the Game Gear titles this makes so much sense to own as a Sonic lover. Sega need to stop being so sloppy with releases and fan appreciation but in this case, eventually - they got it right. So you're good to buy it at this point :)

I didn’t think I was going to even like this game. But I love this game so much .

Just by virtue of how the show was conceived, South Park is not supposed to be in 3-D. It’s meant to be made of construction paper, which is why the previous two games looked and felt as perfect and true to the series as they did.

Seeing them in 3-D feels bizarre, no matter how you slice it… an uncanny Valley of sorts for South Park since we are used to looking in from the POV of someone looking at a sheet of construction paper.

that uncanny Valley-type feeling isn’t going to go away even as you play and you love the game… But if you like South Park one iota and you appreciate Trey Parker and Matt stone for the work they’ve done over the years, this game is absolutely for you and you will absolutely adore the content. Aside from not being a full-fledged RPG, everything you want is there:

the trademark humor, Kupa Keep, Randy being an NPC with side quests, being true to the characters- small touches like Henrietta being around to give you tarot cards and Tweek and Craig owning a shop together

I actually do think that as you play the game, you’ll see why they kind of had to go with this 3-D look for this particular type of gameplay. odd as it looks from watching clips, as you play, you’ll appreciate that they made the call to go 3D

You might prefer RPGs, as I do, but this is definitely a game you want, whether you realize it now or not. and one that we should reward for it’s lower price point and dense content as well as the hours of fun it’ll bring you and your fellow South Park-appreciating buddies.

It’s definitely different, but different isn’t always bad… and breaking the mold is what South Park has always been about, right?

TL;DR:

* Looks weird, but still amazing and hilarious

One of the funniest things I’ve seen this year has been via this game as the universe of Neptunia has to come face-to-face with Vtubing, an industry that it indirectly helped creating. It was really effing funny and enough for me to say to buy the game

On gameplay: the game itself has some flack for being easy, and it can be if you let it. Like most RPGs in the last few years, that’s a very configurable experience so I’m not sure where all the whining comes from on that front. That feedback is just beaches beaching

The Battle is a breath of fresh air and has a lot that entertained me.

My one piece of constructive criticism would be - and this is another case of “wth did u expect?” so take this with its own grain of salt - I’ve been playing these since the PS3 (since BEFORE they were re;birthed) and whereas the story of something like Neptunia RPG or hell even the Senran Kagura collab had something to say in terms of story, this anime meta-commentary does often feel like a “too late” take on life during the pandemic. I think it’s fair that everything eventually tackle that time in all of our lives, considering how universal the experience was, but the absence of it in the spinoff games was a nice break. The highlight of tackling all that was the Vtubing, which I know i haven’t seen the end of where I am in the game

You’ll love it as a fan on the Neptunia games. In fact, I think it’s also a perfect entry for anyone looking to get started too - it’s accessible as a stand alone story and a game in a series of dozens of others with that same Neptune charm.

11/10, would vTube agiannnn

Such an odd little joy. Not at all what I expected, was sort of put off at first, but eventually loved it for everything it is. With it's limited resources it turns the RPG formula on it's ear and gives us a a new bag of toys for the adventurer world

It lives up to it's "creepy" reputation, but the suspense is what's really addicting about it.

Played Conception 2 way back for the 3DS. Thought it was a fun dungeon grind for anime waifs. Didn't know the original wasn't 3DS, as I didn't circle back around... enjoyable though it was, when I say grind I mean TEAR YOUR EYEBALLS OUT JRPG dungeon grind. That was part 2. It only suffered of it a little I'm being dramatic. I only bring it up because it was more widely available in the west before Conception Plus came Stateside.

Contrary-wise, it seems like this one - can confirm both the PS and Steam version because I own both because effing weeb - are a lot less grindy. Same EXACT mechanics and type of grind, just not so much leaving you hating the actually really creative and ridiculously smart system for scoring with a buncha chicks and having a buncha battle babies.

Anyway I'd say pick it up if you liked Conception 2. Personally, I liked Conception 2 over this one, dungeon grind and all. [Btw, it's almost definitely because the Classmating song is less awkward in Conception 2. So maybe actually DO play this one first. I'm of two minds on it]

And that's how you make a Star Bay-Bay ^_^
