ShadowMaster
New Zealand
Gaming began for me when I was a little kid. There was this arcade so tall I could barely peer over it. Dad puts a coin into the machine and I push some buttons and move a stick as I watch the "tv screen". Little did I know I was touching a piece of history from Tomohiro Nishikado. The arcade game was "Space Invaders" released by Taito.
My second gaming experience came when dad used to visit his mates and one of them bought their children a console. Once again, little did I know I was touching a piece of history. The game was called "Pong".
My next touch of video games was not untill many years later when in 1989 at the age of 12, I moved to New Zealand with my family. There were arcades everywhere for me to play. Double dragon, street fighter, some kind of dungeons game, and more! it was incredible.
In 1993 dad bought the first PC and my first PC game was Comander Keen. In the "Hard Disk Menu" by Jim Hass, there was a listing called "Wolf3D". I didn't touch it because it sounded boring. I was missing out on history at every one of those decisions! One day I took the plunge and clicked on it. My response was "WOW!". I was hooked onto FPS games and to this day I cannot get enough of it. Since Wolfenstein 3-D came Doom, Doom 2, Quake, and multitudes of other FPS games. I kept the original boxes and reciepts for all of them!
That's how I got into computer gaming, and will love it for all of my existence in this part of the universe.
Now I want to develop games. I have so many ideas, passion and drive but I need an opportunity to display it all!
