As a veteran of the First War, this game scratches the itch for absolute anarchy and crazy action where Murphy's rules always apply and the worst enemy is panicky helldivers. Now if you pardon me, I've been notified I need to see my Democracy Officer for some reason.

Ran into a Colonist that said "I used to be an explorer like you, until I took...... it's a long story". Random NPC met my expectation.

This game has a great premise, with slow time and rewinds being explained through drugs and illegal testing. But more than anything, I loved how even though realistically I only held a sword(and sometimes a vase or five) I felt badass. Being able to slow down key moments to deflect a shot from an enemies gun or intercept it with a well placed bottle to cut his friend up gave me the power fantasy that I truly enjoyed without being a god. Biggest critique is this is a game designed to be repeated and the story itself, while interesting, is short. So unless you want to try to join the speed runners, you are likely only to get a few hours out of the campaign. Still a blast to play, thoroughly enjoyed.

Early Access Review
Though in early access, this game already offers a good base for the developers to continue. Already adding features requested by the community, new ships, components and a plethora of things to help, this game is supported well. For gameplay, I have never felt so much zen when I was one mistake away from becoming particles in space. I can see how this might not be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoy the problem solving that each level of difficulty provides as the game gives you information but trial and error are the real way you learn, especially when you get to ship class 4 and have to remove class 2 reactors.

This is a cautious recommend.

I have played this series of games since SD G Generation War, and each iteration has changed the game and not all of it has been for the better. However, this game does get a lot of it right. The introduction of Raid Set-up is a definite benefit, no longer having to worry about having a ship with a full crew just to field a second group helps immensely. Another big change is the addition of Group Dispatch. This... is a mixed bag to me. I love that they implemented something for people who do not get to play much, as this dedicates one or more of your groups for X amount of time and you get rewards like money, XP, new suits, etc. But I think this system is part of the reason everything else is so overinflated. The cost to get a decent ship is staggering, something that I wouldn't consider feasible in a single run of a storyline. Also, Group dispatches are the best way to level and evolve your suits, as the amount of experience to get to the next level seems higher as is the level required to get new suits. If you just play the game and not use group dispatch I am not sure how much fun you will have. Using group dispatches makes level suits childs play, especially the daily training dispatch. But then you don't get the experience of using a suit and the struggle of leveling up your Leo to get the Talgeese, then the Epyon. You can just send it on several dispatches and suddenly, high tier suit. Finally, I feel like the matches take longer than they did in previous games. The amount of enemies, how easy they are to kill, and difficulty all seem the same. The changes are in animations(if you watch them) and in-between turns. So much goes on that didn't used to distract you like the raid units getting energy, so before your turn it takes like two-three minutes of listening and going through all of your units.

Don't let my negative comments detract from this though, the game is good. I just feel like if you want a better intro to the series, maybe go with Frontier, the previous one. It is also in english if you buy from playasia(not on pc though).

Coffee Talk is a little social interaction through the production of caffeinated(or otherwise) beverages. It presents a story with fantasy creatures, that could just as easily have been human, and tells a tale for all of them across the days. You get to feel connected to them as you serve their drinks and discover what their issues are and help them through it. This game even warrants multiple playthroughs, not only to get the best endings but also because it is wonderfully aware of itself. Consistently poking fun at silly things, like how one of the characters doesn't communicate the same way others do and catches a typo in their speech bubble. Ultimately, a good buy that I thought was well worth the money.

TLDR: If you like building something and seeing the results of your hardwork smash or get smashed, there is no reason not to get it.

This game takes the idea of running a mercenary company in a galaxy of war. You are split between managing your company through repairs to your ship and mechs as well as choosing where and for whom to work for and fielding a lance of those mechs you have built on the field of battle. A lot of people complain about being outnumbered, only able to bring 4 mechs, or other such issues. Personally, I never had a problem with them. A Leopard only have the capacity to drop 4 mechs at a time and, usually, when you are outnumbered there is some aspect backing you up that is not always immediately in your face such as enemy mechs are "Makeshift" meaning they only have 75% total armor. I have never entered a battlefield that I felt like there was no hope. Make no mistake, I have lost mechs, pilots, and even battles, but always felt like I could have done better with what I had or was just really unlucky with my or my opponents shots. The game also has a vibrantly active modding community adding different techs, mechs, and qualities to the game that will bring you back to run another company into the ground. Highly recommended.

This game definitely has a steep learning curve. I have played over 50 hours and I still feel like I am getting the hang of things. However, I have been improving, and few things beat playing a game when your team worked together and had a well fought fight, win or lose. And that is the key thing I will tell you if you are new to this game. This is a team game, and it is important to know the roles of your mech. Stick with the rest of your team. If you are a medium/heavy, support your assaults. They can usually throw more damage and take more. Lights, find those exposed assaults. I get most of my kills in a Flea on Assault mechs. It is hard for them to track a small fast moving target. And if the shells are flying your way, move somewhere else. Finally, be a little cautious when choosing to pilot an assault. Assault mechs dictate the battlefield usually. If the assault mechs aren't with a push, 9/10 the push will fail. Know the flow of battle before thinking 100 tons of beef will save you. Once you get more experience, you will realize there are exceptions to the rules, but you will see those. Watch people like Baradul on youtube, they give great build tips and show high level plays that you can learn from. (Plus Baradul has an epic beard, so bonus points)
This is a great game. It is one that encourages spending money, but it is not required. Just know what you want and focus on that. The Cadet bonus will get you a good mech and enough leftover to make it yours.

Early Access Review
Sigma Theory is what I would refer to as a Spy Management game. No longer do you play 007 running halls with your Golden Gun wasting people. In Sigma Theory, you are M, planning, positioning, and executing missions with 4 agents in your corner of the agency. It is up to you to ensure your country doesn't fall behind in the last tech race ever.

Sigma Theory is an enjoyable game. Having beat it a couple of times I feel I got the hang of it. One of the critiques I have is I feel as though sometimes the events during extractions can be a bit more fluid, as it stand now they are randomly selected from a pool of events which may or not make sense in the context of things. For example, my Agent gets caught be a small squad of cops, but because he is armed, he pretty much takes them all down no muss no fuss. The next random event is 40 or so meters away and it involve him blending on a bus. If I just mowed down a bunch of cops I don't think people will be getting on the bus a block down the road.

The game is at it's best when you are laying out your plans, having an agent hack a rival government to lower the alert so when your second agent extracts it is a little easier, all the while having a different countries rival agent trying to buy out your scientists. Sometimes you get what you need, others you fail. But rarely do I feel like a single or even a handful of failures meant the end of my game. While there are many ways to lose a game, it always feels like I have a chance. It is especially difficult when other countries get Sigma Theory tech that they utilize, some do some pretty crazy stuff like causing agents to up and quit.

All in all I would give this a recommendation. For the price it is good for a few playthroughs and I feel like I got my money's worth. I would only hesitate to tell you to play it right now, as it is in early access. I feel like a lot of people get a game in early access without all the features, beat it, and never come back when they introduce the new features.

This game is one of the best big ship battle simulators I have come across. The ships themselves feel big in the way they move and how their guns respond. The different classes feel unique and even the same class on different manufacturers have the tendency to play differently. Even more so, a single ship's role can drastically change based on the modules you bring to battle. I personally love a damage variant of the Tactical Cruiser(a traditional Healer). There are some technical issues, but their support is quick to respond and if they don't solve the issue then and there, usually you will see them respond in the forums to let everyone know they are working it. Furthermore, I haven't felt compelled to purchase anything. Even the "Hero Ships", which are the biggest draw for your money, don't have an advantage over the same ship Tier/class with the same loadout. The later tiers can be a bit grindy, but that is to be expected.
