I've only just started playing it and I have to say I love the step up in quality. Its not Half Life Alyx, but its scratching the itch that Fireproof Games has been able to do. Settings to the max!

Only negative: I would love for the world to be more interactable.

Delivering on everything I wanted from a Hollow Knight sequel.

Edit: Beat the game, 100% completion. Love love love this game. Yes, its hard, but its fair... a few fights I needed to look up a different build and approach it differently.

Wander Crest 4 Life.

Single-player, chill in space, cut up progressively larger and harder ships, pay off your debt and stick it to the man.

Tower defense with a cellular scifi vibe that will ruin your life if you play it. Don't do it if you have a happy marriage... or maybe roll the dice. You're an adult, make your own decisions.

Love this game. I'm deep into the puzzles and my daughter likes to help figure them out.

Visuals are fantastic, gameplay and input are good. Runs good on the steam deck...

So why a negative review? Because what started as a free roam discovery game quickly turned into an on-rails game. Things once jump targets become static background obstacles. Things cant be interacted with become interactable only after other specific sequences are done in order. Tools you worked on break and are never valuable again. Puzzles are very straight forward and pose no difficulty. Characters are written off even though the game has taught that the opponents can't travel or see through gates. The ending just left my daughter and I feeling hollow; everything earned is lost.

There was a potential for a game here.

I bought this game a long time ago and I've left it sitting there, lonely, abandoned.... then I got the steam deck and I've logged over 150 hours. Is it hard? Yes. Metroidvania meets Dark Souls. Is it rewarding and satisfying when you learn a bosses moves and timings, or you start getting your spike pogos down? Hell yes. If you get frustrated - just walk away for a minute, realize you're not going to succeed immediately, come back, practice, win.

I cannot currently recommend this to anyone that has any other flight / space sim. Out of the box this game is very broken (for HOTAS controllers). Anyone that thinks pitch-down is pull back on your joystick has never spent time in a cockpit. EA need to allow for custom profiles (default to something sane) and sharing of configurations. In-game graphics for which "Stick 1 button 14" would be super helpful since I don't remember that as castle-switch left.

If you are going to play with HOTAS (I use the X-56 Rhino) and VR (Index):

1) Unplug your throttle
2) Play this game in desktop mode first
3) Map all the pitch, yaw, and roll as you would expect. If you don't unplug your throttle, yaw-left might be ignored!
- pay close attention to the fact that yaw and roll are swapped.
4) save and exit
5) plug in your throttle.
6) load in desktop mode again... map throttle axis.
7) map all the other buttons... there is no "sane" layout right now.

8) Enjoy?? I don't know. I need to get back into VR with this setup and maybe reduce the sensitivity on the controls.
