Excellent little game, pixel art and ambiance really carries it

So close to being good, but just really can't hold it together. Things like being able to accidentally make your gear worse (without the ability to reverse it), bosses with awkward and impossible hitboxes, and unrewarding side content (challenges with no real obvious location to turn in and no tangible reward) are definitely its downfall.

As a fan of metroidvanias, I really wanted to like this game, but it makes egregiously bad design decisions at every turn.
Boss fights were the final nail in the coffin that made me drop it; the player hitbox is huge, but the boss hitboxes feel inconsistent and inaccurate. You'll feel like you found the rhythm and form of a fight only to find yourself swinging at air. I've tried to pick this one up twice, falling off around the same point both times, and likely won't be picking it up again.

A pretty little experience. Leans a bit too heavily on combat gauntlets, but the movement feels tight and satisfying. If anything I wish there had been more on the platforming/adventure side, but for < 20$ its a fun pickup if you're a fan of the genre.

Very cozy, only suffers from somewhat awkward game loop

A very emotional overall experience. Does a very good job of whipping you back and forth between mindless resource collecting and crafting, and strong narrative interactions. Symbolism and detail is used incredibly well

Cute game, worth giving a try at the current price point.
Would definitely recommend leveraging the highlight enemies option the dev made me aware of in his response, made a huge difference for visual clarity.

PRE EDIT REVIEW
Game loop isn't bad, but really suffers from visual clarity issues. Enemies get lost in the busy backgrounds and mountains of bullets. Also missing rebindable controls (especially the ones attached to mouse)
If they update with some enemy border and control options I'll flip my recommendation, but until then just feels a bit clunky.

Early Access Review
Very polished gameplay, but be warned incredibly early access in terms of length (see my total playtime for 100% completion of the current map/bosses). Nothing too difficult at the moment either, though I'd expect that to go up with the longer content.

In a genre like this, where you're competing against Path of Exile and Diablo and unashamedly taking from both pretty liberally, there's a pretty high bar to beat for a good game. Quite honestly, this feels like a pretty lackluster clone.
- Gear progression feels awkward, stats don't always seem to match up with item level and legendaries usually just have an extra normal stat line.
- Combat feels clunky, with ranged attacks often randomly not registering hits or the character getting stuck firing extra shots when clicking areas without enemies.
- Even when playing solo, the enemies teleport and rubber-band consistently (20ms ping).
- There are significant glitches, ranging from getting stuck in the floor to significant pathing bugs by both allies and enemies.
- Leveling up is confusing. There are bars meant to show "expected point investment" in stats based on class, but they seem meaningless (and actually stopped displaying at some point for me).
- You can't see the health or break bars of your allies, so they'll just drop at random without warning.

Final verdict, not worth it at this price point. 20$? maybe if you really enjoy the genre

Honestly, game is fun, especially at the 10$ price point. Definitely way more "arcade" feeling than enter, but that makes sense based on its original launch platform.

That being said, really needs some clarity added to the visuals. Find myself losing my character/cursor decently often in the clutter. Accessibility patch would kill any real criticisms.
