Altough I played so very little yet, I care about this game and I want it to have a happy future. But not like this. It stays negative until Sony gets their act together.

We waited years for this. And it's even better than we expected.
Can't recommend it enough.

First, a disclaimer. Think of this more of an interactive movie sprinkled with a bit of dialog choices, a bit of exploration and some serviceable combat.

With that out of the way, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is surprisingly quite, quite good! The story is fun, the banter (which, believe me, there's tons of) between the Guardians is very faithful to the characters. Constantly funny! At at times laugh-out-loud hilarious!

On the technical side, it's linear, so don't go in expecting an open-world. You can only control Peter Quill, but it's understandable if you play the game and realize what they have done with the other characters and how they tie to the combat. All the places our heroes visit are incredibly detailed and colorful, as are the secondary characters we meet. As I said in the beginning, the combat is just okay. It gets the job done. At this point I'm playing it more for the story and characters than for the combat.

It's also a fairly well optimized product. It's running fine on my rig (i7 7700K, RTX 2080, 16 gigs RAM), maximum settings minus Ray-tracing and DLSS at "balanced". I encountered a few bugs here and there, but none game-breaking for me and, I think, quite fixable.

This is also, as far as I'm aware, a complete package, as in, there won't be DLC in the future. I think making an actual finished product at launch has value and needs to be recognized considering how the majority of AAA games never do that nowadays.

All in all, I bought this thinking that "it's just to hold me up until Forza Horizon 5", but while in terms of playtime that maybe so, the story and characters are so appealing that I think I'll be revisiting this again.

So yeah, recommended!

I think the negative response this game got from gamers would be lessened had it been called "Dirt Arcade". The number "5" was a bad move.

Yep, you read it. This is an arcade game, it doesn't have rally stages like previous Dirt games. It's all races against opponents.

And for what it is, not for what people wanted it to be, I think it is a competent one. Good optimization, highly detailed tracks, excellent environmental effects, good arcade-style car handling, cute visual customization, reasonable selection of vehicles and so-so collection of game modes. Gymkhana and Sprint are trash. The other ones are good. Multiplayer is dead. The playground mode is interesting, has some nice constructed tracks but I tired of it quickly.

I would recommend this game under certain conditions: understand this has nothing to do with Dirt 4 or Dirt Rally, and only get the game cheap, like 20 euros. Or, alternatively, buy Forza 4 which is miles better.

This is an absolute blast! Even better than Dead Cells, in my opinion. I didn't think, judging by gameplay videos I've seen, that I would like this game. But after buying just for kicks and playing it a while, I was hooked! So much stuff to unlock, diverse combat, so many lines of dialogue with a cool story. It's pretty awesome! Worth it at full price, even.

A good game hidden behind the frustrating mechanics that compose souls-like games. I don't like to be frustrated when gaming, I like to be entertained. And repeating tough boss fights dozens of times is not fun. At least for me.

I'm giving this a thumbs up because of the theme and the story.

This is an awesome fighting game. And faithful to the anime in terms of looks. Quite expensive, though. Recommended but on a deep, deep sale.

Cute little game. You can build and lots of stuff, also animals. Watch your farm grow and customize your houses. Better than Farmville.

If I was alone on an island, waiting to be rescued, this is the game I wish I had to pass the time. Utterly addictive.

EDIT: This game is now good. I'll keep the original text for history sake, but I now reccomend it.

Usually I don't bother writing reviews, and this is my first negative review. I have to get this out of my chest.

After 42 hours in game, after maximizing multitool and exosuit, the game corrupted my saves. Tried the existing solutions, nothing worked.

No way will I start a new game. "No Man's Sky" is mediocre and technically flawed. Not recommended at all.

UPDATE: some patch fixed the corrupted save problem. Game is still weak, though.

UPDATE 2: got back into the game after the much needed patches and improvements. It's a better game, but buy only at a discounted price.
