During the play tests I had the problem in a PvE mission that no units rendered for me. Okay so that is fixed now? Nope. Even worse it happened in PvP for me too. Restarting the game did not help to resolve the issue, and it has been there for a long time (half a year at this point).
The PvP is unplayable because of it.
PvE lets the AI cheat (unit availibility and ressources) so is a lazy implementation too but I can at least understand this.
The campaign missions are kind of okay. The dialogue is cliche and bad. The depiction of the baltics is unrealistic. Poland being a no-factor is just a bad joke. German war readiness is on point though and this was a nice realistic turn. So turn off your brain when you play the campaign.

This game tries to be a hybrid of a VN and a regular game, thrid person shooter to be exact. Also there are elements from RPGs.

Sadly there are a few issues with this approach, or rather how it has been done. The story is not really engaging, neither is the dialouge and the choices you have -or rather lack of them. It doesn't feel like missing out when you skip as it doesn't feel like the answer you could give, make any difference.

The combat mechanics are nice, cannot say much about it in-depth though. Saldy no Co-op in the campaign, with it, it would be a nice game "third person shooter"-wise.

Many loading screens, bewtween every skipping the dialouge.

HOWEVER if you are a die-hard fan of SAO franchise, well many CHars from the anime are here, so this is certainly nice, also there is japanese voice acting so it feels like the anime.

As I haven't been paying much attention to the story (it looks more than a dating VN at times, no depth sadly) there might be some good stuff in there. However towards the end I checked out more dialouge and... wel it didn't look like a good plotline towards the end, more like something they put together in order to have some parallels to the anime.

As a person who enjoyed World in conflicts style of gameplay, this was a game I loved quickly. It has emphasis on placement and use of units. However it can get quite micro intensiv at times.

For anyone new to this game the first few games against bots can be quite challenging as they spam consitantly until they are out of units, points or defeated. Not much tatics are employed. But it can still make for some fun times, once you have a few friends who help you hold a frontline and reinforce.

Also navel combat (ship to ship) is also a bit.... broken. A nice try though and definetly adds a bit to the mix of units.

Also while it is technically balanced, uniqueness to the factions stays. Personally I like that it is a bit asymmetric, as not all BLUEFOR units have an exact counterpart in REDFOR (e.g. Soviet Tanks come with AT-missles).

If you like to play and maybe have a few friends to play this with, it can be fun, but be warned, against bots, it is uslly only logistics you need to be aware of (at least for beginners).
