I am unhappy to report that this game is incredibly boring. One of the most friction-free, unengaging racing games I've played in a long time. There are so many tracks and none of them are interesting. It's a bunch of mostly guardrailed narrow roads that all run together and it makes the Career mode feel like a monotonous chore. There's no mechanics to the driving outside of Literally The Boost Mechanic From Mario Kart Just Lifted Wholesale, and it's the perfect answer to every turn. The other racers may as well not exist for how much impact they have on how you handle the track. There's a ton of character dialogue and zero character personality. It's not like some nightmarish barely held together disaster or anything, like I think it looks nice and I like the music, but god it is so, so, so boring to play. It's a huge bummer.

This is absolutely a streamerbait climbing game but it's also a generally well designed one with fun co-op so even non-streamers can enjoy it

Nice game. Nothing too crazy on Normal and Hard's a good challenge. Maybe I'll go back and try EX mode someday. A good lil' Sunday afternoon shooting game.

Worse than I could have imagined. It controls correctly, but that's the only good thing you can say about it.

All the levels are terrible and full of annoying gimmicks that only get more annoying in the mandatory second playthrough they make you do before letting you fight the true final boss. On top of that, they're boring to explore because they had to make all the special stage entrances obvious to let people get the emerald powers, relegating every reward for exploration to being currency to buy parts for your robot in the online multiplayer Fall Guys mode, that they thought people would want for some reason?

All the emerald powers are gimmicky and mostly useless because even though the special stages are obviously placed, they're still optional and not something you're guaranteed to have so they can't actually design levels around you having them. The special stages themselves are a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess and among the worst in the franchise. I don't know who decided to make grappling hook levels where you have no momentum and can't manually target the grapple points, but they should be put in jail. In addition to those there's also 1 billion different awful minigames throughout the levels so you can earn more robot part currency. I don't know how they made a worse version of Sonic 1's special stage but they sure did it!

Maybe the worst part of the game is every single boss fight. They're all a slog with eternal waiting periods until they're vulnerable and 1000000000 invincibility frames after being hit, and they only get more and more sloggy as the game goes on. This game has three final bosses and somehow they're all progressively more nightmarish. Like no exaggeration, 10 minute multi-phase fights with multiple instant kill attacks and no checkpoints.

And as the cherry on top, most of the music is real rotten. 75% of it feels straight out of Sonic 4. Even the songs you can tell were made by Tee Lopes can't save it. If anyone from Sega is reading this somehow, please stop letting Jun Senoue make Genesis-style music. He can't do it anymore. It's all terrible.

It is truly impressive how much this game sucks, even if you don't factor in that the previous 2D Sonic game was one of the best Sonic games ever made. It doesn't even measure up in a world where Mania didn't exist. This game is a travesty.

Pizza Tower is one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played. Heavily inspired by Wario Land 4 but better in nearly every single way, and with no shortage of its own crazy ideas. This game has been in development for a very long time and that's very apparent from the insane level of craft that's gone into literally everything. Great feeling movement, varied levels that take perfect advantage of that, phenomenal soundtrack, gorgeous animation, a perfectly realized style. Pizza Tower has it all. I'm going to 100% this game, and if it ever comes out on consoles I'm going to buy it again and 100% it there.

It's kind of incredible how effortless of a followup to the first game this is. It's been almost 10 years but it doesn't feel like they missed a beat. Just as weird and crazy and funny and stupid and smart as the original game was, if not more so. Love the bucket, hate Cookie9. Eagerly anticipating the arrival of my Cow's Egg,

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I backed this game on Kickstarter purely because I thought the premise and presentation were neat, but I honestly didn't expect it to be so outstanding. Way more than a period/nostalgia piece, Hypnospace Outlaw does an incredible job at weaving together interesting character development, subtle world building, tiny esoteric jokes, and a genuine sense of mystery and discovery. A game you can boil down to "Funny GeoCities Cop" has no right being this genuinely engaging and affecting.

Blue Revolver has always been good, and the update makes it even better. The new character is fun, XP mode is fun, the game's just fun! If you like shoot 'em ups (or even just have a passing interest, this game is very accommodating) you should play it.
