I am fully convinced that Arrowhead does not have a testing department. Everyone works on their own thing, someone compiles it and uploads the update and then we get a broken mess. Slowly but surely, this game is collapsing under the most idiotic decisions, lack of foresight, and most of all, no testing. Into The Unjust has made this game unplayable for me, 15 FPS is not acceptable when I have decent hardware.

PAYDAY 3 is a nice step forward from PAYDAY 2, but it feels like they tripped and stumbled two steps backwards.

1. Progression is ass. As many have said before, progression doesn't feel good. There are no extra rewards for going above and beyond what is expected of you in the game. No extra money or XP for completing a job in stealth, completing a job without putting on your mask, completing a job quickly or completing a job with no one going down. With the exception of not putting on your mask, PAYDAY 2 had all of these. Getting money is wholly dependent on you completing jobs, NOT from what you steal. It feels as if I could steal the biggest diamond in the world, and I'll get a buck fifty for it.

2. Gunplay is...interesting. Guns feel very different than PAYDAY 2. In general, I think it feels just as good, just different. There are a few interesting choices Starbreeze decided to implement. Such as, there is no fire selection. Strange to not include that, but it's rather inconsequential. What IS consequential is that a few assault rifles (such as the M4 and AK) fire one bullet, pause then start shooting in full auto. It sounds useful in theory but when you wish to use full auto on someone and your gun literally hiccups, it not only feels weird but takes away valuable time you could be spraying lead. On most difficulties, this doesn't matter but if you wish to do Overkill then it could be quite a problem. Time to kill is also not the best. While it's miles better than PAYDAY 2's higher difficulties, it feels like the police can tank half a mag before maybe going down. Headshots are required, but they are not instant kills. Usually, the police require up to four headshots before falling.

3. Quality of life is less than an afterthought. Booting up the game shows an immediate fault in the game: the menus. Mimicking Modern Warfare II's menu system, the layout of menus in PAYDAY 3 is asinine. For example, item locations are strange within the menu. Primary and secondary weapons are bought on the same menu, but they are not specified until they are bought. Now with the current weapon set, this isn't the worst. But it can result in some surprises in the future. An example I have personally experienced is that I bought the Micro UZI fully expecting that it would be a secondary weapon. Another issue is that favors are not bought in the heist lobby like in PAYDAY 2. I expected to find it in its own category, but alas that was not the case. The *actual* location of the favors is in the weapon buy menu of all places. It's under the weapons, under the paint, under the charms, under the stickers all the way at the bottom of the menu. Not only is that a stupid location, but you also cannot access this menu when in a heist lobby so in order to get more favors, you have to quit out of your lobby, buy them and join back.

4. Always online. While already not a good system, PAYDAY 3 does it in an even worse way than expected. You MUST matchmake no matter what. If you want to play solo, you have to sit through two minutes of matchmaking. Playing with only friends? Matchmaking time. And if the servers are under heavy load like launch, you might be sitting there for ten minutes, waiting to play by yourself.

In general, I find that the gameplay is quite fun and the bugs aren't the worst. I have had some game-breaking issues before that required a complete game restart. All the issues I have with the game can easily be fixed with time. It's just that as of right now, the game is kind of ass. If you are not a PAYDAY 2 veteran, I would steer clear of this game for now. However, for $40, it isn't the worst experience.

I've had more crashes and game breaking bugs than any other game I've played, including Ubisoft games. You will not find a more busted experience than this game. It's like they patched out every small bug but left the huge ones in for an extra challenge to the player.

There are more dead bodies as set dressing on any given map than actual players. Right now there is one server in America with people and at prime time and there's 8 people in total. With no AI, this game is just a joke.

Holy hell, I am sick of Overkill's antics. Every update to this game makes it even worse. The old, broken engine it uses cries out in pain every time you try to run the game because of the amount of ♥♥♥♥ they've piled into the game. From the worst decisions you've seen all the way to actual insider trading, Overkill has it all.

And remember, they finished this game, adding a nice 10 minute cinematic to wrap it up and then they dug its corpse up out of the ground and milked it even harder.

In Overkill's latest adventure, they've put the game on Epic, added crossplay and as a result have FUBAR'd the game. It's becoming increasingly obvious the devs do not care anymore. They're just trying to keep their dying company afloat, one that should have died back in 2017.
