Incredible. One of the best stories in recent memory. For anybody having weird framerate or vsync issues, turn off vsync in-game and force it though your GPU's control panel.

Absolutely beautiful.

If you're expecting survival horror or Dead Space this ain't it. The puzzles without context clues and slow combat will frustrate a lot of people. But the world is so mesmerizing. The ending is so gutwrenching too even though there's barely any semblance of a plot. This game needs to be experienced by anyone who likes slow plodding atmospheric games.

Is it worth the price? That's hard for me to say. It's short, but those 6 hours were unlike anything I've ever experienced in gaming in recent memory. So for me the expereince was absolutely worth it.

This is not a review of the full game. I played it in the past, LOVED it so I'm biased, but it's definitely an acquired taste. Very bizzare and surrealistic but a treat for the eyes and ears. This is more of a heads up for other people buying this pc port with hopes of experiencing this. I can't speak to the full port as I only played a few minutes, but this is a DECENT port so far.

Make sure to click the bottom right "Screen Settings" in the startup menu so that you can change the resolution, and some advanced settings (there were a few settings in Advanced that I didn't understand). Cutscenes are still 30 fps as expected, but once the game started gameplay was 60fps for me. Everything looked sharp and clean in the few minutes I played. Menus are somewhat clunky, but I was able to switch to English voice (the dub for this game is PHENOMENAL, like ASMR).

All in all, in my few minutes of testing, this seems a great way to experience a niche game from the PS3/360 era that undersold and was lost to time. Nothing groundbreaking in terms of porting, but the team put in enough effort to make it look good and run well on modern machines while wrestling with the typical 7th console gen Japanese game menu clunkiness. It's a miracle these developers remembered this game and decided to port it. I can't find anything else by them, and I hope they continue to do good work. I'll update my review if I run into anything troublesome, but the first few minutes are very promising for reliving a fond memory.
