Dev is working on the issues. Most of the bad reviews are just review bombs from disgruntled folks in the discord. It does have problems, mainly with the early game. But the Dev is working on those. They pushed out a patch fixing some of the early stuff within 6 hours of launch. That is some dedication.

Give it some time.

Excellent game, primary issues are not really the fault of the devs. Any issue that is on their shoulders is one they are currently working to fix

Early Access Review
(Mostly spoiler free, maybe some minor things about character creation and the skills)
Let me preface this by saying I played closer to 11-12 hours, just mostly offline.

For being in Early Access, you can tell there's a lot of love already in this game. The enviroments are beautiful, the models, while somewhat simple, are designed well, and pretty much everything else is well designed.

The combat is one of the best parts of this game, in my opinion. Going from a free, open world to a turned-based, tactical game during combat is a system I haven't really seen anywhere else, besides the first D:OS. My favorite thing about it, which is technically a mechanic of the world, not combat, is the ability to change surfaces with items, spells, skills, arrows, and other things in the enviroment. It offers unique ways to approach combat, letting you perhaps freeze some enemies before you fight, or lay a trap to force enemies into.

The exploration is one of the other big parts of the game. The main story is interesting, and you could just blaze your way through it, but if you don't want to, there are HOURS of side quests, hidden paths, nooks and crannies, puzzles, and a variety of things to explore and enjoy. More than half of my short playthough was side quests and exploring, and even in Early Access, I didn't complete them all. And even in exploration, there are multiple pathways to accomplish the same goal. It allows you to approach the game anyway you want.

D:OS2 stands apart from it's predecessor in the sense that, you can tell it has the same base design, but playing the first is not a necessity to enjoy or understand the second.

I don't have a lot of nitpicks. The only ones I do are ones that might be addressed in the full version
1.The character creation lacks some options. Hair styles and such things are limited, you can't select a voice, just little things like that
2.I wish you had more options with the starting Source ability. The current one, the extra turn, is okay, but different ones could change how you can build your character, or one that has a changing effect based on what skills you have most predominantly built.

So far, it's a great game. I'm looking forward to the full game, and I would honestly reccomend it to fans of RPGs.

Plus I love the Dragon Knight(Pretty sure his name was Slane) I loved Divinity 2, and Slane gave me nostalgia flashbacks of my own Dragon Knight

TLDR:It's a fun, unique RPG that I enjoyed, and I hope you buy so you can enjoy too.
