fun times for the whole family

Edit 12.2015: The game had some patches and some of my statements may no longer be true. I have not played the game for some time now and can not give feedback about the changes (planets, AI ships and more).



What do I do in the game?

(I have only played Survival but there is a creative mode, too)

- gather resources
- build a base
- build spaceships and other SiFi stuff
- fight NPC spaceships
- PvP

what I like:

- Science Fiction Setting
- Realistic Art-Style
- you can build spaceships that fly and shoot stuff!
- build your own tools (you can build spaceships with mining and/or crafting tools attached to them and use those ships to build even bigger ships or bases)
- working in-game programming language (code your own little programs to display container content on a display for example)(I believe it is C+ or something like that)

what I don't like:

- there is not enough to do besides building ships and stuff
- the NPC ships just fly a straight line and don't really engage in fights beside shooting their auto-aim turrets
- really, there is not much to do besides building and resource gathering

Summary:

I have mixed feelings about this game. The Building part is super fun. The Resource gathering is interesting because you build your own ships for the Job.
On the other hand, the lack of content besides building and gathering can make this game pretty boring pretty fast.
Interested in building cool spaceships or a moon base? This game might be something for you then.
But if you want to use the stuff you have build in cool combat scenarios, you need to join a public server or play with(against) friends.

What do I do in the game?

- progress through Bossfights

what I like:

- nice to look at 2D Art-Style that brings an interesting challenge to builders
- the game has tons of content in terms of items, blocks and PvE
- different Invasion Events with Bossfights and unique loot
- lots and lots of collection items like Banners for monster kills or plaques for boss kills
- huge amount of vanity items to customize your appearance
- different combat styles (melee, ranged, magic)
- “electricity feature” where you can build simple mechanisms and traps
- NPC's that can move in your buildings if certain criteria are met
- trade with NPC's
- challenging endgame (there is something major happening in the world if you defeat a certain boss)
- nice Interface and quality of life features (auto stack!)

what I don't like:

- limited world size

Summary:

This is the most polished Game in the genre of open-world-survival-games.
There are no game breaking Bugs, the balancing is OK and the progression feels right, too.
I highly recommend this game! Play it alone or with Friends, you will have fun either way.

- defend yourself against roaming Zombies at night and massive Zombie hordes every 7th day

This game has a very good survival system. Besides Food and Water you need to watch your body temperature and stay dry, if possible.

what I like:

- Realistic Art-style
- increase in difficulty over time (7th day hordes get stronger)
- cool ways to barricade yourself in your shelter (reinforce windows and doors, putting up spikes and barbed wire)

what I don't like:

- slooooow development team

Summary:

This is game is a lot of fun and one of the better sandbox-survival games out there. Playing with friends is highly recommended!
