And on the seeking of light I say;

The wandering of a mind estranged, in its pursuit of meaning, hath from the beginning served as a mode by which all mankind endeavoureth to discover itself. The act of questioning existence, and the discipline of learning thereby, resteth upon a most fundamental principle: that fair inheritance which the collective consciousness of all ages hath conveyed unto us—namely, the transmission of the highest intellect above unto the comparatively lesser intellect below. When reason consulteth that which is greater than itself, it transcendeth its own bounds and beginneth to emit a certain light, whereby the depths of perception, apprehension, and understanding are each, in due order, made more profound.
In the innermost recess of this pursuit, man seeketh not merely answers, but is himself transformed in the very framing of his inquiries. For every question rightly posed awakeneth within him some hidden horizon. The more a man reflecteth, the more he restraineth his tongue and inclineth himself to listen, the nearer he draweth unto the essence of being. This approach is no mere accumulation of outward knowledge, but rather the gathering of inward disorder into a single, governing centre. Thus reason ceaseth to be a mere instrument for the recognition of objects, and becometh instead a living faculty—one that weigheth meaning, discerneth truth, and continually reconstituteth itself.
The history of mankind itself beareth witness to this inward pilgrimage. Each age, receiving the light of that which came before, striveth to carry it yet further. Yet this conveyance is no blind imitation, but rather an artful deepening and reworking of the inheritance bestowed. Thought, therefore, is not the labour of the solitary mind alone, but a meeting across generations. A perception arising in one intellect findeth its echo in the heart of another age; the insight of a sage openeth the way for the awakening of another soul. In such wise, truth is not uttered once for all by a single voice, but endureth as a shared inspiration, resounding through the corridors of centuries.
