This is a very fun albeit short game. Solid art style, runs well, and very few bugs.

An interesting premise and a story that reflects it very well, the writing is a mix of morbid humor, charm and just simply dark; I loved it. The only story negative I found is the writing felt a bit modern... Like the characters (especially your "pen pal") was from our time not Victorian England

The gameplay is a time management game simply enough. An odd thing about the pacing is that the more ways you can make money the more ways you can fail. The rate of customer arrival is based on how many ways you can serve them, not how popular the store is. So if you don't want to make the game difficult make sure you're displays match your production ability, and buy tables late game (customers are for some reason very impatient at a table)

*Rant*
I found the game compelling from start to finish all I wanted was to play the game more (but with less restrictions like in the story mode). Then the endless mode came out, I thought it was going to be just what I wanted: no story to get in the way, cooking recipes for non-meat items, a flour production mechanic and police to raise the tension. Alas I found it unplayable

It's the police. With them came a suspicion meter which (is meant to) indicate how often they will come to investigate your shop. When they come they check the tailor shop's measurement room (where Percival kills his customers). If there is any sign of murder your run ends. The problem lies on the fact that there is no accurate way to gauge whether or not a cop will show up. I've had a full gauge and a cop didn't show up for 2 minutes, and I've had a 30% full gauge and a cop showed up when the previous cop just stepped off the stairway to the tailor shop; it only loosely correlates. worst part is that it takes about as long to kill and dispose of someone as it takes for them to come from the right side of the screen and get to the measurement room. The only time you can safely kill someone is if the cop is just walking out, every other time is a game ending gamble.

You can save scum by exiting to menu when you see the cop about to catch you. This resets the day you were on but keeps your save. I found this untenable simply because I couldn't stand the feeling I get knowing that engaging in this games only mechanic that gives you materials for money-making (murder: from which you get the cloths, meat, and fertilizer) is a slot machine gamble for ending your run. If the developers set the polices walk speed to 2/3rds the problem would be fixed, but they just say "look outside before you kill" to which I say "that doesn't save you from the one that comes from behind you're building"
*Rant Over*

All in all the game is solid. If you're tight on money it may not be worth the price since you can 100% it (minus the endless mode) in 2 days, but for those 2 days it's a fun game to dive into, just mind the shallow waters.
