To all my friends who I said this was a 9/10. I was wrong. This game is a 10/10. A true love letter to video games as an art form and as a co-operative experience. Josef and the team at Hazelight, I truly hope you keep pushing out the best Co-Op games of our generation.

The voice acting is fantastic and the story is not only engaging, but authentically Australian in a way that not many other games are able to capture. It's further than a facade of using slang like "brolly" instead of umbrella, but the characters are written to embody archetypes that I know from my life as an Australian. From the Eastern Suburbs fresh-out-of-uni Angela to the Suburban Greek in-laws we get not only a Pulp Thriller, but an Australian Pulp Thriller and that is enough reason for anyone and everyone to play this game. Amazing.

I mean, is there really any competition here?

What a mixed bag. While I'm sure some loved the smorgasbord of side content and mini games, this game made me long for the comfort of a linear game. It's hard not to be overloaded here, so definitely ensure you don't burn out on early side content.

The plot has transformed into a convoluted multiverse plot, but so far I don't see any pay off for this change. The story beats still hit the same (or a bit worse since you're confused half the time).

I only wish that FF73 is the pay-off we're all looking for, trimmed of all the open-world fluff that seems like an inevitability in 2025 AAA gaming.

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. Sandfall made a better Final Fantasy game than Square have managed in the past two decades.

Everyone should have this installed. It is, simply put, black magic. With Lossless Scaling, my system is able to push 150-200 frames on most releases (which it really shouldn't btw) with barely any visual loss. Highly, HIGHLY recommend,

I had to upgrade my RAM and my CPU Cooler for this game and it was completely worth it. Yes, the game is horridly optimised - the game is basically running two engines at once.

Even so, it is gorgeous remake of the best RPG of all time. Let's just say the brevity of this review was so that I could get back to it ASAP.

Assassin's Creed has never really been an innovative game and really excels in nothing gameplay wise. The draw for me has been to run around in different historical periods that the latest graphics that gaming has to offer. Unity was a nice break where the stealth was at it's best and the gameplay relative to the series was at a peak. AC Shadows is the Unity of the RPG Asssassin's Creed games - nothing innovative, but the best within the paradigm, trimmed of the fat that defined Valhalla.
