The campaign is pretty fun, and will run you around 5-6 hours. The real meat is in the multiplayer, which is surprisingly deep and unforgiving. It will take me quite a few more hours to feel comfortable in the various ships, let alone managing the different power levels and kitting out the ships properly, but it will be fun the whole time.

The closest to a digital D&D game I've played so far.

Pretty high up there on the "easy to learn, hard to master" scale. But its also rather hard to learn.

1500 hour update: This game is the most abusive relationship in my life. Help, I can't stop.

Early Access Review
Well, this game has become more of a niche interest, now that more easily accessable games like PUBG exist - but if you're looking for a more hardcore zombie survival sim, DayZ is still a good choice. It's still buggy, it's still in beta, and we still don't really have an end date. That being said, I still usually have a decent time when I jump in for a few hours to scavenge and survive.
