There are ways to get solo sessions for sell missions, but otherwise public lobbies are tolerable.

Settlement building's a fine concept, and largely executed well, but that's the only redeeming factor I can find, gameplay-wise.

I miss having skills alongside perks, because skills are now replaced entirely by perks. I miss an actual level cap, and largely because I wanted to min-max everything. I loved doing that in New Vegas and Fallout 3. Hell, even the Elder Scroll series was good for that up until Skyrim. Now? Everyone can become god-like with zero planning with time and patience. That irks me.

I don't even mind that a lot of the "dungeons" are similar to one another, or that the game makes you go to them quite often. I love that, really. The repetetiveness is something I enjoyed, but I'm one of maybe 3 people worldwide who do, so whatever.

Graphically, this game is definitely excellent. Bethesda did not skimp here. Skyrim was largely a bore, graphically, but there's some actual variety in environments here. The one corner of the map which turns out to be just a massive nuclear crater with a cult ionside it is inspired. The Children of Atom making a return is always a nice nod to continuity.

If you're looking at this game to be like its predeseccors, you will be disappointed. Do your research before plopping $60 on this. I'm not going to recommend it, but that's largely because of personal taste. Lots of folks like this game, and they're absolutely right to.
