I can't really comment on the game itself that much because the performance is so freaking terrible.

I have a i5 14600kf and 3070ti, 32gb of ram, it hitches all over the place. Same on min or max settings. Terrible. Unplayable.

I'm not buying a From game day 1 again!

UPDATE - I seem to have fixed things by disabling hyper threading in my bios lol.

UPDATE 2 - Now I'm able to play it, it rocks. People say its bad without comms or crossplay, but I think it's like a turbo charged version of the anonymous coop in Souls that I've always loved. The joy of a good run with some strangers is so freaking good!

Still can't recommend until the CPU issues are fixed, I shouldn't need to hamper my system's performance ot make a game work!

It's FROM's purest and most intense game, combat wise. It doesn't have build diversity or different styles of play. But if you like the challenge of learning an encounter or boss and practicing, getting good and then dominating, this game has the best version of that feeling of the series.

Only a few hours in at time of writing, but this guy who played it in his twenties when the original came out is LOVING it. Super polished, runs nice, the core combat is modernised nicely enough to feel familiar but not too clunky, and they like to mess with you expectations of it being a straight remake, it's nice!

FROM Software have only made the best open world game ever on their first try.

It's basically a roguelike base builder where you will fail a lot, but you will know why, and vow to do your best to avoid it next time. It does take a looooong time to realise the consequences of your actions, but that's kinda what makes it awesome: fire-fighting the problems you encounter.

An you WILL be firefighting.. Base problems are like Hydra - dispatching one reveals 3 more. But not for a good few hours yet! :D

Just so many nuts and bolts to play with, if you like figuring out games yourself you'll love it!
