Great game, don't listen to all of the cry babies that are having connection issues, the game itself is fine and enjoyable, of course the first week of launch will be busy with the amount of people trying to join in at once.

Before you flame me please read, the game seems lovely from what I experienced initially. However it's 2023 and the lack of support for ultrawide screens is a little silly, especially for a game that is single-player and story based. Now I understand games sometimes don't support it and it's just the way it is. However if that is the case, why is there no option for Windowed Borderless? I am either forced to play in a stretched goofy looking full-screen resolution or in windowed mode that doesn't even centre on my screen correctly (tried all resolutions).

I bought into this game thinking it would be an MMO, and now they made it single player. I wish I could get my money back.

Negatives

In my opinion, Ship of Fools doesn't quite hit the mark when it comes to game-play longevity. With only three bosses to defeat, players could potentially complete the game in just a couple of hours. I would have expected a bit more content, like additional boss fights or dungeons to explore. It would have been nice to see some variation in the existing boss fights, with new mechanics added to increase the challenge. Additionally, while there are various characters to collect, I found many of them to be lacking in depth, with the default characters being the most effective in most scenarios. Overall, while Ship of Fools has its strengths, its brevity and lack of character development may be disappointing to some players. That being said...

Overall

Ship of Fools is an excellent top-down rogue-like adventure game that offers an exciting journey of battling sea monsters while keeping your ship intact and improving your combat tactics. The game excels in its progression system, making it a captivating experience for solo players and an even more thrilling one with friends. The wide range of items available in the game adds to the overall experience, making each run distinct due to the randomly generated maps, and the player's choice of path dictates the game-play experience. The game's visuals, music, and sound effects blend together seamlessly, elevating the overall experience and making it an enjoyable way to pass the time. Overall, Ship of Fools is a great game that delivers a well-crafted and engaging adventure that can be enjoyed alone or with friends.
