i fell all the way to the bottom in the desert stage and had to spend half an hour with 10% stamina climbing all the way back up, never felt so rewarded to talk ♥♥♥♥ to the 2 dudes waiting for me at the top after they complained "we were getting hungry!"

I have waited for this game. I have waited 10 years. Ever since Armored Core - Verdict Day came out in September, 2013.

It is everything I ever wished for... if I was a liar. It is more than I ever wished for. It has shown me things I never knew I needed. Everything is perfect. Down to the last possible detail.

It's Armored Core. You are a Raven. Nothing more. Nothing less.

EDIT: It's got some odd design issues that pop out to me after a bit of playtime, such as the lack of turning speed, the fact the AC is not locked to the camera's facing direction, and the over-reliance on the stagger system. The music also sucks, despite how rock-solid that aspect is in the series. I'm willing to still look past that due to the story and graphics, which are both amazing and definitely a product of this year.

For what was meant to be a Gundam game, it is surprisingly well-made in regards to basic fighting concepts and core tenants like how the mechs themselves move. In no way am I a Gundam afficionado or even watch the shows at all, I'm the guy that has 14000 hours and 7 marathons in the entirety of the Armored Core series, so I came to this game solely based on the fact it has mechs, it has PvP, and there's weight to all of your actions.

Besides the... maintenance and matchmaking hiccups, the game is incredible and genuinely one of the nicest I've played. The gacha, as cancerous as it might be, is attached to a game as opposed to the other way around where it's a glorified slot machine disguised as a game. You can get every single MS for free with enough (definitely not Warframe or War Thunder-tier) grinding, and they give out free rolls and tokens like candy through daily, monthly and limited missions.

The gameplay itself is weighty in all the right ways. These are multi-billion dollar war machines and that's shown across very well in the weight, speed and delay on certain actions. The focus on positioning and tactical knowledge also excuses the slow turning speed (as it's your fault if you get caught out, like not looking at your radar ffs). The cost mechanic is not explained very well, but Mix Up is a lot of fun.

I will say though, you need to set voice volume to zero. You won't notice a difference and it'll save you on a lot of earbleeding from rolling banners and "Good work out there!" when the matchmaking inevitably kicks you out with no error. There is some amount of 'quantity over quality' that can be seen with the huge Gundam selection, but this has largely not been a problem. If you just want to know what everyone uses: copy what other players use lmao.

edit: lmao I got permabanned

great MP, great Zombies, great mod potential, what's not to like?

MP might not be as rock-solid as the previous game, but it still offers a lot of options, especially when it comes to weapons. There are no real stand-out 'bad' options when it comes to weapons, even if the Black Market weapons (such as the Olympia, that infinite-ammo LMG) are questionable, there's a good chance you can get them even with staying F2P outright. The thrusters are an interesting mechanic that add a good layer of complexity, even if it is quite hard to control outright. As such, if you see 'mistakes were made' in the kill feed, someone fell to their deaths, and I've seen high-levels mess up as well.

Zombies itself has some flaws (largely related to Gobblegums, how easily OP you can get, how slow the early rounds are, and how the AI messes up training) but they are honestly minor to the entire package you can get. All those maps, alongside the DLC maps, and if that's somehow not enough, you've got all sorts of custom maps and mods that you can download through the Steam Workshop super easily. (Shout-out to Town Remastered!)

Overall, it's got SOME flaws, but no game's ever gonna be perfect

game's ♥♥♥♥, actually
most of the time I've spent is just repeating the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over
if you actually condense the game into "play just once" like sorties, archon hunts, etc.

you've got 60 hours of gameplay max, 40 if you actually go fast and whatnot

>game's been dead for years and they've been repeating events from past years, to the point where even one of them (Plague Star) was legit not run this year, all of the rewards being put into one of the worst Syndicates in the game (Deimos)
>railjack's changes were the worst ever, just being same ♥♥♥♥, different smell (you're not in your railjack longer than you are in it)
>"""updates""" like Lua's Prey, Citrine's Last Wish, with content that's just rehashed game modes, with only 1 warframe and 2 new weapons
>a COMMUNITY MANAGER ends up being put up as the game's main director, and guess what? the entire game goes down the toilet
>changes that are actively hampering your ability to grind, in a game that's all about grinding from their point of view, like the syndicate standing daily cap (like bruh, weekly purchase limit on Steel Path kuva and void relics)
>only fixing bugs after they've been years in the game, after numerous people complained
>making some of the worst balance changes known to man (who the ♥♥♥♥ nerfs Primary Merciless for ♥♥♥♥'s sake), while adding things that break the games in more ways than what they nerfed (an arcane that lets you get 3 free ability casts by casting an ability, wow)
>tying the 3 new warframes (Styanax, Voruna and Citrine) to some of the worst grinds ever seen (Styanax requires beating the entire questline, Voruna had a new mat just for her, same with Citrine)

best 6/10 game I've played though

Fantastic game. Coming from since Tekken 4, but I'm only gonna highlight two issues.
Smurfing.
Neutered backdash and sidestep.
Otherwise, fantastic.
