Took me a while to find the fun, but eventually found it in sandbox mode. I started off with almost no money in Paris, and built my way up from a backpacker hotel to a luxurious 5 star hotel with a restaurant, bar, spa and sauna.

I usually enjoy objective based scenarios more than the sandbox, but in this game they start you off with a fully functional hotel in each scenario, where you just have to tweak some things to complete it. There is no challenge there. Starting from scratch is way more fun, and with almost no money you have to strategize and experiment to get enough income to progress. My advice: go straight to sandbox mode with the lowest amount of money. There is a decent amount of challenge there.

I think I've played enough to form an opinion

Very obviously a mobile game. Controller controls are confusing. Unpolished.

All the systems are a bit too quirky and unfinished for me. The town feels very empty, the villagers don't do anything, the resource gathering is grindy, the camera doesnt move as you expect, etc. None of those things are a dealbreaker on their own, but together they make for a very mediocre experience. On top of that it feels like this game doesn't know what it wants to be: relaxing farming sim or dungeon crawler. I've only seen 3 enemy types so far, yet nearly half of my playtime was spent fighting. I expect more enemy types and combat styles if this were a dungeon crawler.

While the overarching structure is a bit more predictable than previous games, the puzzles and athmosphere themselves are again excellent.

It's awesome and definitely worth more than the asking price. Might as well play one and two too if you haven't, they're great too.

Just as good as To The Moon, which was outstanding by itself. The story, music and pacing are top-notch. Deserves to be played in one sitting (without distractions).
