New World has had a rocky start. Long wait times, exploits, key game features being disabled due to those exploits - but taking into consideration this game is still new, it's gorgeous to play. They still have many improvements to make to help propel the game even further, but it has become one of my favorite go-to games. I've always had a love for mmorpgs and this hit the spot for me.

Early Access Review
Game was a steaming pile of assets thrown haphazardly around. Controls were very clunky. Animations were absurd. I can see what the developers were hoping to accomplish, but the hype did not meet reality.
I was leery to even purchase the game based solely on the community moderators in their Discord, but hoped the game would speak for itself - and it did. It whispered, "r-e-f-u-n-d".

- Edit -
My initial review still stands, but I've also taken time to think while also monitoring the game's Discord. I wouldn't recommend visiting the latter if you're looking for helpful/insightful responses to genuine critique. The moderators play favorites to only those who show support of the game. I've seen comments deleted and users banned. Some rightfully so, others just seem like an attempt to silence critique.

On that note, I keep seeing the same retorts for the condition this game was released in:
1) "It's EA - you should expect bugs."
2) "It's one developer!"

I own several titles that came out in EA, and some that still are in Early Access. I know what to expect, and have often been surprised how much I've enjoyed an EA title. Just to use EA as a crutch to excuse poor/incomplete development gives other EA titles a bad name.

To use a single developer as a means to excuse the release state of an EA title, is just that - an excuse. If the developer needs more time to polish the game, by all means extend the release date out to a point where you feel that the product you're releasing is the best you can do at that moment. I've seen solo devs release games in far better condition and teams of >10 release a dumpster-fire game.

I honestly wanted to love this game. I was and still am a huge fan of "ghost-hunter" type games. The first one I ever played was GhostMaster, still have it and love to go back to it. This game made me hopeful for some challenges that were missing from Phasmophobia. As I said initially, the reality of what was delivered just did not meet up with what was mentioned in the About this Game on the store page.

I do hope this game receives an extreme amount of TLC. I will buy this game again in an instant once I see more has been done to fix the issues and improve game play.

I've shown this franchise a lot of patronage over the years. I loved the game and the friendships I've gained along the way.

Sadly, I am changing my review to a negative one based on how the publisher (Snail Games) has sullied the game's reputation. WildCard has went silent on the matter and that's a shame for the community.

I still play on a private server with a few friends, but I will not spend another dollar on anything Snail Games has a part of.

Talk about a breath of fresh air!
I had been almost done with the hunt/prop type games. If you've felt the same way, and want some good fun, grab yourself a copy of Witch It today.
I'm a very small-time streamer, and have had more people watch me and friends play Witch It, than any other game we've tried.
The developers are very active with their community, and that's almost a rarity these days. Buy the game, join their Discord and prepare for some good fun, great laughs and an overall completely enjoyable game.

I'm a bit of a minecraft nerd, so this game appealed to me. I went Pro and have really enjoyed the differences. I would like to see a wider variation of mobs.
