and someone made a vac-safe addon that disables the .sig check for tf2 to load that VPD:

Any changes you make require a game restart
There's a converter on github to convert it from vpd to json using the messages_to_proto file (supplied by valve on their github as well), requires a tiny bit of coding knowledge to fully set up though
Currently, I'm working on a project for the Official TF2 Wiki to include previews for all Decorated / War Painted weapons. I'm on the process of getting the textures out of the game (which I found out how), while someone else will be doing the icons themselves.
My only gripe is how the .VMTs work. I'm aware of the proto_defs file, but I was unable to find some of the custom materials for some of the War Paints.
The Coffin Nail materials, for instance, are on paintkits/cig. However, it seems that some weapons use 2 separate .VMTs...? By nullifying the .VMTs inside them, I noticed that the "c04_minigun_c.vmt" doesn't seem to have any difference in-game, while "c04_minigun_metal.vmt" does.
Thank you in advance.

u too?
I did find your guide helpful in giving me a general idea of the warpaint system, and I've been able to make custom skin groups for the pistol mod I'm using, but I'm not sure how to go about rigging the Stat Clock. I haven't done any modeling before, but I would guess I just need to add a bone to the model which the stat clock is anchored too. Is that what you did for your skin mods, and do I need to get into Blender or a similar program to do it?
Sorry my comments a little long, but thanks!
