Early Access Review
Have put so much time into this game, nearly half of play time is just from newest update.

This game honestly could be the next Issac. Its has and is getting so much content.

Completed the game after 107 hours (most of it was spent in offline mode).

Compared to its most recent CRPG contemporaries (WotR, Kingmaker, Solasta and to a distant extent Neverwinter Nights 2) this game is a fantastic continuation and further refinement of what a CRPG should be. World building intermixed with player choice and to extent freedom within the game word is at its highest level and does give you a lot of comparative freedom.

The game still has its flaws. Act 3 tends to flood the game with fluff characters (NPCs that no longer have any importance or things to say related to what is going in). This makes sense in that, in Act 1 there are a lot fewer characters to contend with but it leads to the game as your reach Act 3 feeling more fluff then substance rather then a bustling city. The level cap feels too low, given you can hit cap and still have most of Act 3 to get through feels limited; even if you are progressing quest lines and getting ready for the finale. Gear is very broad and yet very narrow in many places; Druid has very few items specific or useful where as other classes have many. Gear specific to races is also very narrow, perhaps 3 to 5 items in the entire game have special properties for races, and most of them are Githyanki related.

Overall its the sort of game that leaves you wanting not so much more as better. Its not a bad feeling to be left with; but it shows that even with as good an RPG experience as this was, it can still be better; and in some extent still doesn't reach the heights of its legacy. I do look forward to Larian's next release, be it DoS3 or otherwise, and I hope they continue to iterate, improve and refine CRPGs even more for the better.

Good game overall, though I'm not sure if its better then Persona 4 Golden. The extended ending isn't anyway, and that kinda disappointing.

That said, the story makes it worthwhile to play through at least once; the confidants and characters are still fun and get that heart-strings tug moment even at the end.

Great game. Best in years in so many ways. Can have its performance issues even on newer cards but it is so worth it and will be updated in time.

Edit after beating the game. 140 hours, and still more to do. Other characters to build and NG+.

Still amazing, still GOTY and very probably game of the decade.

Probably one of the best games I've played in terms of building, managing, or simply enjoying a relaxing time.
