This game started out with so much potential. I remember the hype during the Beta Test back in early 2017, and how the game's mechanics and controls built upon it's predecessor, but ever since that release on September 6th, 2017, it has been downhill with minor uphill redemptions, paired with countless empty promises, betrayals, rescinding content and promises, and just flat out lies.

Let me first point out that i say this as a PROPER veteren of the game. My profile lists only 456 hours played, as that is all the time i have spent on it ON PC, but in TOTAL, i have, at the time of writing this, according to the website Time Wasted On Destiny, 2,421 hours and 45 minutes of active time, 1,470 hours and 58 minutes of AFK time excluded from that total, and 129 hours and 40 minutes from characters i have deleted, totaling to 4,022 hours and 23 minutes spent in Destiny 2, across all platforms i have played on. I used to be a hardcore, dedicate, endgame raider, and i used to love the game, despite all it's problems.

However, that is all in the past now.

The devs ignore the feedback from the community, mainly due to CEOs dictating that it isnt lucrative enough, believe me, many ex-devs from Bungie have expressed a wish to give the players what they want, but being stifled by the CEOs.
But what's more, SO MUCH of content that was PURCHASED by players, has been deleted, and frankly, that leaves a rather nasty taste in my mouth. To give perspective on HOW MUCH MONEY that means has been effectively TAKEN, ALL seasons external from a DLC release have had their content removed, and ALL CONTENT pre-Beyond Light has been removed, except for SOME locations, like the EDZ, that means that the entire Red War campaign is gone, the Curse of Osiris and Mercury is gone, Warmind and Mars is gone, Io is gone, Titan is gone, the Black Armory and the Scourge of the Past is gone, the Leviathan and all 4 raids are gone, the Tangled Shore is gone, all interesting content from Season of the Undying is gone, Season of Dawn is gone, Penumbra is gone and with it Reckoning and Gambit prime, so many seasons gone, so much gone, its honestly tragic. The sheer scale of content that COULD BE in the game is astounding. If this is a headache of a wall of text to view, let me put it in a more digestible form, numbers, you know, the ONLY THINGS that the devs in power for this disgusting company see.

Destiny 2 Base Game (The Red War): $60
Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris + Warmind: $40
Destiny 2: Forsaken (x3 since i bought it on Xbox, Playstation, and PC: $40, $40, $40
Forsaken Annual Pass: $35
- Season of the Outlaw
- Season of the Forge
- Season of the Drifter
- Season of Opulence
Season of the Undying: N/A, bundled with Shadowkeep Purchase
Season of Dawn: $10
Season of the Worthy: $10
Season of Arrivals: $10
Season of the Hunt: N/A, bundled with Beyond Light Purchase
Season of the Chosen: $10
Season of the Splicer: $10
Season of the Lost: $10
Season of the Risen: N/A, bundled with The Witch Queen Purchase
Season of the Haunted: $10
Season of Plunder: $10
Season of the Seraph: $10
Season of Defiance: N/A, bundled with the Lightfall purchase
Season of the Deep: $10
Season of the Witch: $10
Season of the Wish: $10
Episode 1: Echoes: N/A, bundled with The Final Shape purchase
Episode 2: Revenant: 1500 silver ($15)
Episode 3: Heresy: 1500 silver ($15)
That is a total of $375 spent on content that is no longer available.

And as an honorable mention, the BONUS purchases of DLC that is still in the game, that i have had to make due to playing on different platforms over time
Shadowkeep (x2 since i won't count the first purchase, as it is still in game): $25, $25
Beyond Light (x2): $30, $30
The Witch Queen (x2): $40, $40
Lightfall (x2): $30 (I was gifted the copy on steam)
Plus the Bungie 30th Anniversary (x2): $25, $25
And yes, I had to buy them all a la carte as i didn't have the money, at the time, to buy deluxe editions.
This makes a GRAND TOTAL of $645 spent on this game, this game that refuses to value my time, or anyone else's time, this game which aims to milk you dry of every ounce of money and energy you could possibly have, all for a minimal return.

If you are sensing hostility from me, then good, that means my message is getting across to you. I am angry, frustrated, saddened, and frankly depressed at the state of this game.
I feel entitled to be heard, after how much i personally have spent, and i feel that the rest of the Destiny community is entitled to be heard. I wouldn't be upset about the money that i spent, if it felt like my time and money mattered to the company.
A gacha game would deserve my money more than this slop, which hurts to admit.

I strongly advise against playing this game. It has a gripping story that keeps being ripped down and burned, leading to unsatisfying endings to mysteries and plot points half a decade in the making, it has satisfying gunplay that keeps getting overhauled and destroyed, it has beautiful art that then gets copied and pasted as much as possible, and it has gameplay loops that are satisfying, but are then milked for engagement time to make the game look good. It breaks often, you can realistically find yourself clipping through the ground haphazardly due to poor QA testing, and even more that that, it's due to this game being built on top of an, albeit heavily modified, ANCIENT game engine that was used way back in Halo Reach, and with that, it simply will never value your time, as it takes any good event, or good activity, and forces you to redo it hundreds of times, until it becomes boring and repetitive to the point of making you want to bash your skull into the wall.

I want to love this game. I always did.
I grew up with it's universe.
I knew more about the lore in this game than the history of the town i lived in growing up.
I wanted more than anything to see the stories in the Grimoire from D1 to be visited, expanded upon, and closed out in-game in Destiny 2.
But i have been disappointed again and again, and you know what? I'm finally done.
Done with the toxic relationship loop that this game puts me through.
I'm not even mad about the money spent, i'm mad at the sheer disrespect and disregard, proving that my money is clearly not well-spent. By them, or by me apparently.

Thank you for listening to my rant, i hope i helped you make an informed decision on playing this game.
