It's alright, I guess.

"What if drowning, but on land," is what I assume the game devs were going for. The shroud is just underwater gameplay in a trench coat. Low visibility, a panic timer, and the constant need to go up for air.

But there's base building, crafting, and like... lots of stone with medieval vibes!

Hard pass.

Mom, can we get a Cyclops?

No. There is Cyclops at home.

The controls should be considered a war crime, but otherwise the game is fine.

One of the most fun games I've played in a while. The world looks beautiful, and of course, if you're into Legos, that's a plus. The music and the challenges are fun and interesting. I don't feel like the game ever punished me for making a mistake. Death doesn't reset progress or force you to re-do stuff you've already done. I wish the game was a little longer, but that's about my only complaint. I usually dislike using a controller, but since this one's in 3rd person and you do a lot of diagonal movement, I definitely agree with the recommendation to use a controller.

CardLife is a masterclass in how to screw your players: Freejam slapped on such an aggressive anti-cheat mechanism that now, with their servers dead and buried, you literally can't even launch the game you paid for. 👏👏 Truly genius move—making legit players feel like pirates and pirates laugh at the wasted cash. Save your money (and sanity) and steer clear of ANY game pulling this draconian anti-cheat bullsh*t. Seriously, devs, we paid for a game, not a virtual paperweight. 💀

I'm impressed someone was able to make a game this bad. It's like they asked themselves what game mechanics would anger players the most, and they put it all in one game. I'm sure the mod scene is popping cause there's no way anyone can play this game as-is.

You've been playing for almost two hours with your buddy, you have double-jump, stamina boosts, and strength boosts, you're almost done with your current level, and then you walk into a room with the Huntsman and get insta-killed. Life is good. This game is not.

I played the update, and wow, I hate this game even more now. This is some Sisyphus sh**.

Literally don’t care about getting to be tiny. This isn’t the first game to do it, and it won’t be the last.

It’s the amazing gameplay, the vast number of things to do, the non-linear progression, and so much more that makes this one of my favorite games.

The base building is super fun. And when I get tired of that, I can go exploring cause the map is huge. And when I’m tired of that, I can kill a bunch of mobs or go farm materials that I need for the base building. And when I’m tired of that, I work on my expansive network of zip lines. And when I’m tired of that….. ad infinitum.
