As a filmmaker and tycoon fan, I really wanted this to be good. The idea of running a movie studio through the decades sounds amazing on paper. In practice, this feels more like an unfinished university project that somehow made it to Steam.

The first 30 minutes are decent. You pick genres, assign staff, release your movie, make a bit of profit. Then you do it again. And again. And again. Nothing ever changes. Every movie feels the same, the so-called “management” is just clicking menus, and the fun evaporates faster than your production budget.

There’s no evolution, no new mechanics, no sense of discovery. The film industry moves from 1970 to 2020, but gameplay-wise you’re stuck in 1970 forever. Employees have the personality of an Excel cell, and “training” them feels as exciting as adjusting a tax form.

The concept had potential, but the execution is as shallow as a TikTok documentary. A few updates could’ve made this shine — creative choices, production mini-games, events, gear upgrades, something to break the monotony. Instead, the devs decided to pull the plug, blaming poor PC sales, and are now focusing on a console port and a brand new game. Because why improve your foundation when you can just start another half-baked one, right?

It’s not broken, it’s just empty. Like a movie set with no actors — all props, no story.

Played the demo and was hooked, it was only a matter of time until I bought the full game. Great job, addictive and can't wait for more updates to an already impressive game!

bought it because saw markiplier playing it, did i waste my time? probably. was i supposed to be editing video during that time? yeah definitely. do I care? lmao i just made a huge hole on my yard

I wasn't familiar with these type of games but Balatro just took over my life. I bought the PC version to try it out and see what the buzz was all about and damn, the buzz was justified. This game is amazing and a breath of fresh air to someone like me who only plays the same action, adventure, racing games. I enjoyed it so much that I also bought the mobile version, so I can play anywhere instead of the usual Clash Royale.

Buy it, play it and enjoy. It is trully a work of art and the Game Awards were justified.

Keeps migrating host, forces me to play both sides, locked to 30fps. Pretty much zero costumization. Not worth any penny.
