Garry's mod is a wonderful sandbox. It has so many game modes it is like a pack of games or a platform for games more than a game in its self.

It is a poker game like the original, but with better ai, an extra type of poker, and other things like drinks. There are a few aspects of this game that really take away from it being as replayable, fun, and as good as the original.

The first problem is that you can't skip or turn off the dialogue as you could in the original, thus making games longer and annoying once all the dialogue has been heard.

My second issue with this game is that it crashes sometimes or everytime in certain situations. A wide spread crash happens when 3 or more players going all in causing the game to crash some of the time. I have had it both crash and not crash in this situation and so have many other people as seen in the forums for this game. Another bug I have experienced was when Brock went all in reducing his ammount of cash to zero, but instead of the game passing play to the next player Brock would then go through his actions of going all in. This kept repeating indefinitely and all controls were unresponsive requireing a force quit of the game.

My final gripe with this game is with the in game challenges and the achievements. Some of the challenges are close to impossible and completely take away from the game. One of these challenges is "Win a showdown with only a high card". This is a situation that would almost never happen in actual poker play since it requires very poor decision making and no poker strategy to happen. Now if it just meant playing a different way to easily complete the challenge it wouldn't be that bad, but not only do you have to play poorly to complete it but you must also get rediculously lucky and hope that all the random number generator gods shine upon thee. Since you must pass the chalenges to unlock all the achievements and the extra items for other games this seems like a tactic to have players artificially inflate their game playtime.

One more point about this is that most of these things could be fixed with a patch by allowing skipping of dialogue and allowing for the rerolling of challenges/removing broken challenges. As for the crashes I do not know what would be required to fix them but it would be nice to see fixed.

All in all I give this game a 7 out of 10 and do reccomend it because it is fun to play but it isn't as good as it could be expecially for a sequel.

Great fast paced, wave based, zombie killing game. The dlc characters and weapons are in my opinion way over priced and not necessary for the full enjoyment of the game. If you don't have the game wait till in goes on sale during one of the sales or seasonal patches like Halloween or Christmas as it always does.
