If you're on the fence about this game: Buy it. Buy it now. Do as little research into it as you can and go in blind.

What a fantastic game. When I heard that the developers of Gris, my favorite game of all time, had a new release I bought it immediately. I was nervous to play it because you can only play it for the first time once, and I wanted to love it. It did not disappoint in the slightest. The visuals are breathtaking, as is custom for Nomada at this point. I stopped constantly while traversing the landscapes to simply admire the fantastic art that the game takes place in. Berlinist nailed the soundtrack again, I'm so glad they were brought back to do the score.

I didn't look very hard at the store page before buying and playing it, so I went in without knowing that there would be combat. It was responsive and fairly forgiving, providing a respawn point nearby for any challenging moments. It added to the story and gave a sense of challenge that got me invested in the plot and characters.

Spoilers below:
The fight at the end of Winter was the most fun I've had in a boss fight since Mantis Lords in Hollow Knight. The moves were well telegraphed and easy to dodge once you knew what to do, letting the fight quickly change from being overwhelming to a coordinated dance. I was pretty sure we hadn't seen the last of Neva when you get pinned down, and she was a seamless addition to my moveset for the second phase.

Then the game wrecked me. I don't cry often, and don't even know if I've cried at a game before. I didn't stop crying from the end of Winter through the end of the game. I started when the camera turns to face the world free from corruption, the beauty of that shot alone was enough to move me to tears. Learning that Neva had a pup and leading it around the same way you did at the beginning of the game felt nostalgic, despite only happening a few hours prior.

The ending past that, watching Neva succumb to almost the same fate as her mother, almost had me sobbing. It's a heartbreaking way to end her story, though in death she finally stopped the cycle.

10/10. Will return to 100% it once the feeling of the initial playthrough wears off. Can't wait.

Some of the most frustrating mechanics and unintuitive objectives/solutions I have ever experienced.

Fun "hacking" simulator- uses a mix of real commands and Hack.exe's to make the game both enjoyable and a tiny bit realistic. Fun puzzle to dig around in various systems and try not to get caught.

One of the most gorgeous and incredibly visceral games I've ever played. Sit down and play it in a night if you have the time to do it in one sitting. Highly recommend.

Forces player to keep oculus app open despite not being a VR Game. I found this highly annoying while trying to boot it up for the first time and believe that it should be patched.

Ended up being able to play after several years of it sitting in my library, oculus still forced to open for no reason. Very good story and clever puzzles after you get around the strange forced VR aspect

A very atmospheric game that draws you in with story and unique visuals. It's both chill and immersive with a little bit of edginess that keeps things interesting.

This has to be one of the best games I've ever played... My library might not show it, but I've seen a few. I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone (and have been). I can't wait for the next episode!
