Ultimately, Tetris Effect comes together to become something more than the sum of its parts.

Sure, the soundtrack is excellent. Sure, it's everything you love about classic Tetris gameplay with the modern conveniences of hold pieces, spins, and tucks. Sure, there's a new fancy gimmick in the Zone mechanic (which actually really, really succeeds as a gameplay element, stunningly!). And sure, there are excellently-themed visuals and boards, any of which could have been sold as standalone elements of some larger, more microtransaction-oriented title (lookin' at you, Tetris 99).

To somehow include all of these in a standalone title, and, more impressively, that it all somehow meshes together in a cohesive and understandable manner? It's nothing short of a feat. Bravo, Tetris Effect. Bravo. You'll be my primary Tetris platform for the foreseeable future.

Destiny is everything I ever wanted in both an MMO and a shooter. It's literally the best of both worlds. If you're on the fence, get off it and just play. You won't regret it.

I probably learned more about orbital mechanics from Kerbal Space Program than I did from my orbital mechanics classes. Or, at the very least, I had more fun doing it.
