Still Wakes the Deep is an intense cosmic horror experience that lingers long after you put it down. 10/10 - highly recommend to play it, or watch someone play.

The storytelling is not spoon-fed, letting you slowly piece things together on your own. The horror build-up is incredibly well-paced, allowing you to get a feel for the environment (despite some calling it a glorified walking simulator) while preparing you for the intense, heart-pounding encounters.

Even on the “easier” difficulty, I found myself fully engaged and constantly on edge. The danger encounters are riveting and kept me at the edge of my seat, Although these can be frustrating because of the sudden change of pace/speed, it felt realistic - as in, that is exactly how i would react in a situation where i am running for my life.

Bottom line: If you love horror movies, feeling a constant sense of dread, and well-crafted stories, definitely give this game a shot. It’s an interactive experience that lasts around 5 hours. If you're achievement-oriented, make sure to gloss over them so you don't miss out on completion while you're playing the game. Personal preference: better played on a controller (as someone who migrated from console to pc games).
