One of the best MMORPG out there (or whats left)
Free to play base game with tons of content (solo mainstory, world events, pvp and wvw etc.)
GW2 respects your time compared mmorpg's from progression to world exploration, theres plenty of things to do and it never feels like a second job doing them.

I have hundreds of games I gotta play so the GW2 just sit in my library as I've been playing on and off for years and everytime I return, I never regret returning.

Cannot recommend it till they fix optimization and random crashes
Apart from the mid optimization which I had to download a few mods to get the game running smoothly.
The random crashes are now happening now frequently which is annoying because you could simply open a random chest and looting everything - the game would crash, fast travelling to another city - crash, breaking into someones house and entering - crash.
Now you would think that it's the mods that are causing the crashes but I've had few hours of playtime varied from 3-5 hours before it crashes so how would mods that improves stability cause the crashes? because its not the mods but rather how incompetent the devs made the game with unreal engine 5.

Also judging by the last patch update (July 2025) the devs have already moved on to other projects so another update would be unlikely at this point.

Now if you're a fan of Oblivion and a patient one, I'd suggest you play the original version instead and wait for a deep discount on the remastered.

5-6 hour short fun game the rest of it is leaving the game on so I can get 100% achievement, which is also
why I'm giving this game a thumbs down.

The 5-6 hour mark you will hit a progression ceiling in the game, the max staff you can have is only 85
which is fair enough as the game is running down to 30fps with all these npcs running around.
Then after unlocking everything and upgrading staff skills there is nothing to do but watch the tavern run itself.

As for another downside which is the last 2 achievements for 100% which I highly advise against. The Evil Geeses that thought about putting the achievement behind 365 Days and level 50 is pure evil.
The game only allows to fast foward by x1.5 which I think is way too slow to get through the work times.

If only there was an option to just skip the days that would be nice because I started to dredd putting this game on to run, just to get those 2 achievements and I can't completely leave it on idle because I have to click on choices and click OK to start the next day which means having to keep an eye on it when the day ends for the tenth, fifty and hundredth time.

If you're reading this devs, cut down the 365 days down to 150 days so at least it isn't a massive time
waster especially when the game is already capped on day 100 leaving the game running
is a waste of peoples time when there is no content beyond day 100 and basically unengaging.

With 26 hours of playtime I felt like I've wasted 20 hours just for that last achievement if only the game had something for me to go on through those 365 days but unfortunately no. So yes I will not recommend the game just for that 1 achievement and the beyond nothingness after the 6 hour mark.

Wait for sale, more content is desired.

Love the gameplay. If you're into Doom this is your type of game.
On the fence on this one but I decided I'll give it a positive. The game runs really smooth on maxed out settings, had barely any hiccups and stuttering which I think deserves a positive rating.

Weapons are fun and quite challenging with varied enemy types. 3 biomes containing 1 boss fight on the last stages, I've only beaten the first boss so far (with bots) and I'd say it was quite challenging only because nearly towards the end, I would run out of ammo and had to rely on the bot to finish the job.

I've only had 1 playthrough with 1 random console player so far. It's unfortunate that this game did not get enough promotion as I've only been playing with bots and cannot find any players to play with. Thankfully the bots are not stupid and die to everything or fall off infinitely, they are surprisingly quite useful in fights since you could ping commands to them to give you ammo or health (if they have any on them).

Now the downside of this game, the progression and replayability.

Limited character skins, each character so far only has 3 skins you could purchase just a sad recolour and retexture of their original skin. Some silly cosmetics couldn't hurt like some hat, glasses or even clothes.
It's just NICE of them to pay gate some interesting skins on a season pass which looks pretty unique than the ones they have in-game. Did I tell you how expensive those boring skins are, 30,000 coins while each run only gives you roughly 1000-1200 coins (varies if you pick extras in stages).

Weapon Upgrades. While there are few upgrades to each weapon, I feel like there could be way more upgrades and more effects to make each of them more distinct.

The Tarot system. While beneficial as you can pick 2 tarot cards for a stage run which can boost some stats and effects, they are 3000 coins to purchase which is ridiculous (imo). Since you have to spend coins to unlock weapons, why would I waste coins on some tarot cards for only 1 stage run.

Replayability. While the game is fun, the replayability is really limited here maybe with a few more biomes and a rouge-lite mode with the tarot system as a permanent upgrade and negatives that go with it too. More weapon upgrades and permanent character upgrades would help keep players invested.

In conclusion, I think I'm going to stop playing as I don't seem to be invested or motivated to continue to the next biome (level). I just feel that there could be more content in this game and at its current state it's limited, don't get me wrong here there is enough content to chew on just not enough to keep me engaged to continue playing. So for it's current price, I'd say it's not worth it for what it is.

I'm new to the painkiller franchise, so I have no experience or opinion on the previous titles. But from what the other reviews says it seems to be one of those "this is not Painkiller". Honestly if they had titled the game to be something else, the fans probably wouldn't be all disappointed.

I give this game: 6.5/10 for now.

The crux of this game from day one is Social Club.
After many years of not playing MP3, I've decided to download the game again only to be greeted with Rockstar's $hitty launcher "Social Club" which wants me to verify my email, okay sure send me the code.
NOPE
I have clicked on resend code almost 5 times now and have not seen one email for the code. There is absolutely no reason for Social Club to be in this game anymore. Rockstar can't even do the bare minimum of improving their verification system, Now I have to wait hours or even a day just to get a stupid verification code.

What a waste of time re-downloading a good game only to be blue balled by a $hitty launcher and it's slow verification system.

[Update] I never got that verification email. For those planning on getting it on Steam, save your money and p i r a t e the game.

The game is chaotic.
You can barely see your character with all the skills that is spammed at rapid speeds as the enemies sponge it up like a champ. Seriously, 100 minutes in a continuous run and you're punching sponges at this point cause the enemies are just not dying.

You'd contemplate whether you've got borderline seizure or a damage number wizard with how much damage you do, you'd think they'd die quicker.
A solid 9 for me.

Great game, loving it so far.
Slow at the start but picks up after the 2 hour mark, some can bosses can be a pain in a$$ while others are a breeze through.
I'll admit the game runs okay just not good, not as bad as Monster Hunter Wilds bad.

Occasional 5-10 frame drops noticeably when the game auto saves and detailed area such as the forest levels. (stable most times and frames drops sometimes)

Scale down the resolution to 66% which is balanced for DLSS and View distance: Low. The game still looks good and frames should be stable to play. That worked for me, but your results maybe different.

Good game just not great.
Just passed the 20hr mark and I think I have played my money's worth, I don't think I'll finish the game for few reasons:

• Pacing
• Tedium
• Objective

First 3 hours of the game was interesting by then the 5-10 hour mark when every side missions/objective (including dlc) are thrown at you, the tedium starts to creep on you. To play-through the main story objectives you would have kill targets on the kill-list, but before you get to them you would have to do the tedious side missions to get to them. There are 10 targets, yes 10 targets and they span out side missions for all of them. Those side missions all play the same and wears you down before you could even get to the interesting part of the killing them and the main story.

I've played through 2 story dlcs (Faster, Baby! & Stones Unturned), although they were short they were actually enjoyable and fun to play through.

The games still got hilarious bugs, some annoying but whatever (escort missions not failing when the car you protect is already blown up or kidnapping npc not registering that they're in the car).

In short, I can see why this game isn't the favourite for fans of the franchise. But I can't help but appreciate that Hanger 13 went out of their way to make the game an open world. When these tedious side missions just derail the whole experience from the interesting parts of the main story it is hard to stay invested when it just feels like a chore to play through.

In the end, I recommend the game at a deep discount for what is it. Just wished they didn't over pad the game with tedious side missions to get to the main story.

Finished the main game in 24 hours playtime. Only if there was more interesting enemies (bosses even) and more weapons because after reaching the 3rd - 4th planet the repetition really sets in, same weapons just renamed to "II or Ultra" doing slightly more damage to kill the same enemies but more spongier.

If your playthrough is not focused on science weapons or plasma or corrosion, you will struggle with killing robots because they are one of the most horrendous sponges in the game. I chose to just ignore them and run through them most of the time.

I have no intentions of touching the DLC if I was to kill the same enemies with the same weapons.

It is really unfortunate because the character and world is fascinating but held back by the heavy repetitive gameplay. Fingers crossed the sequel will improve on more gameplay and variety.

Get it on a deep sale, otherwise give it a go on the Xbox game pass.

A quick fix when you don't feel like playing PoE1 and 2.
Just set it on auto-aim + auto attack and relax, forget about slotting gems and how much this and that gear does what and managing loot.
