Finally purchased this on the recommendation of a friend after hearing about it for months andseeing that {crucially, for me) it works perfectly on Linux via SteamPlay/Proton.

I've absolutely loved the setting, storytelling, and combat mechanics. Watching myself improve has been a series of momentary painful challenges but an overall joy.

The game is hard, but in a way, its difficulty is overstated. While a complete walkthrough tends to be a drag and spoil the experience of discovery, meta-knowledge does wonders for modulating the difficulty in game. If you're struggling, look up some secrets for the area(s) you have access to and may have missed, to give yourself an advantage. Consulting a few boss guides to find a strategy that works for you on a tough boss can also easily take a boss from dozens of tries territory down to that of just a handful.

Highly recommended, and don't worry about the difficulty. Tips will save you, if you have just a little commitment.

This title has made me interested in From Software's Dark Souls back catalogue and the upcoming Elden Ring. Please consider adding native Linux support for the latter! If it works as well as Sekiro on Linux after launch, will certainly buy. If Linux support is officially promised from the developer, either by a source port or via Proton, I will pre-order ASAP.
