I've accumulated 31 hours so far over the game and the beta and I highly recommend this game. If you're into snowboarding or skiing type of games, like the old 1080° on the nintendo 64, then you will feel a familiar excitement in playing Steep.

The visuals are beautiful and stunning when properly set up in the options menu. Although to run the game on max settings will take a pretty good GPU, most modern cards won't have any problem handling it on High or Medium. The game engine itself runs extremely well as the physics seem very fluid and lifelike. There is a real level of depth and skill to the game that actually challenges the most dedicated players. Some challenges I found myself trying for hours just to break my top score and then after that, the best score in the world on the leaderboard.

Every good thing has to come with a little bad right, well in this case it's true. Steep to me as a game doesn't feel "complete". The up and coming DLC's seem to have several sports that I would have loved to have included in the base game and not in seasoned releases. For example, Basejumping, Rocketwings and the Bobsleigh will be adding in at later times and of course, you need the Season Pass (30$CAD) to have access to these. Hey at least the new map isn't DLC required, so that's a plus.

The only other downside that I would mention is like the recent Hitman, Steep is an online only game. Though most people wouldn't be phased by this, I've seen some pretty hateful comments going around on this subject.

In terms of multiplayer playability I would recommend finding someone to ride with since meeting people in-game is technically difficult. The only way of interacting with other players is by inviting them to your group or by playing a character emote next to them that spouts out random voice lines. Given that form of communication it's hard to make initial contact with other players in the open world.

All in all, Steep is a wonderful game to pass time on and enjoy for hours. You will often find yourself wondering where your past couple of hours went.
