What little I've played of it up until now - I see the hype now. And it certainly is a fun, neat little game. This might have me hooked for a good, long while like New Leaf did all those years ago. Love it.

The unfortunate reality of Fallout 4 is that it has every component to make itself possibly the greatest Fallout game in the series. However, like all of Bethesda's RPGs post-4, the story is the one key component that brings the entire experience together, in my eyes, they dropped the ball. Hard. Not even to mention the complete scrubbing of West Coast material or even references towards it.

The only way to make this game remotely enjoyable and tolerable is to overload it with mods and fixes to in-game mechanics and expansions to in-game content. New Vegas also suffers from this problem, yes, but the key difference is that the tri-state environment in that game, as well as its story, are miles more engaging than Fallout 4's Boston ever could be.

Vanilla purists, stay away.
Modders, have at it.

This game has everything that made Gmod Tower great, and then some. At the same time, however, I have not seen any good and proper development, marketing, promotion, and increase to the player base that would bring this game to its fullest potential. Maybe it was due to the changing gaming landscape and the abrupt clean slate that resigned this game to its current situation, or some other reason. Whatever it was, this game deserves better.

I will still give this a recommendation, but only begrudgingly so, since I still have fondness for it. However, that's only because of nostalgia and a faraway hope that this game will get its massive break someday in terms of an nuclear explosion of new players.

PixelTail - get a proper marketing team, new devs, or even turn towards a publisher to help with both former issues (not AAA, because that's a deal with the devil). Anything to get this game above a 370 daily peak, and 1,500 all-time.

You know what New Vegas is. You don't need me to tell you it's good.

Anyways, certified classic here. Buy it.
