Very quirky but great.
Also it runs at 144hz and looks very smooth.

Can easily recommend if you've got a neurotic obsession with firearms, if not it's also a very unique and interesting shooter. As a sequel to Receiver 1 it leaves a bit to be desired. It's really the same game but with more polish, some minor but pleasant changes to weapon handling, new weapons, and some new behavior for enemies - can't complain too much as the first game was brilliant and this more of the same.

Basically just a shooting gallery with crazy high production value and some spooky stuff going on. For $20.00 it's a bit high but it'll really impress guests and it's got some replayability. Plus the game feel is p good too.

Really fantastic looking game with excellent exploration and secret hunting. The combat's fundamentally simple but dynamic, challenging and a lot of fun. The story's a bit incomprehensible but it's vagueness is sort of fun to wonder about and I figure it's more theming than direct storytelling anyway.

If you like hunting for Metroid style secrets and challenging combat you'll dig this ♥♥♥♥, fam.

Early Access Review
If you like GITS and more or less functional shooters then you'll love First Assault.
If Nexon scares you then you've got every reason to be afraid, however at least at the time of writing I can say that this game has by miracle dodged the typical "Nexon monetization strategy".

Unlike most free-to-play Korean shooters the microtransactions are mostly fair. Once you buy an item you own it forever, furthermore in-game currency is at least for right now very generous. Match-to-match wont give you too much reward but every level-up rewards you with 50,000 GP. Weapon prices are in the range of about 150,000 to 250,000 gp, but by playing you can essentially unlock many weapons around ~20,000 gp.

Weapon balance is mostly acceptable. Nothing too obviously egregious. Most weapons will instantly kill a target with a headshot which currently gives SMGs too much power on DM. Additionally it appears (though I could be mistaken) that headshots are at least partially random.

Otherwise the gameplay feels pretty good and mostly rewards skilled players. There's not much ham either with bunny hopping being punished and grenade spam being used mostly for softening up targets rather than killing people. Server performance has been fairly stable and only a few instances of "laggy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥".

It's hard to say what the future for this game will be, if previous Nexon titles are any indication hackers and microtransaction hell might be right around the corner.

But for now, if you want an unsophisticated shooter to just mess about with some friends then you'll have a pretty decent time with First Assault. Hell, it's current state is more engaging and content-rich than Star Wars Battlefront at $60.

If you like environmental story telling with an unusual narrative then this is for you.
Gone Home's got good production values and is well written.
It's well paced and a lot of the ideas are tastefully handled.

It also fufills my fetish for fondling other people's things.

If you play the game for free it's an eight out of ten.
However, the game is currently running for $20.00 which is pretty excessive for the amount of content.
I got this on sale and the emotional pay-off was definitely worth it for the fiver I spent on it.
