This game could not have come at better time. I recently lost someone and I felt this game and my emotions and everything this game was an experience, I never thought I needed.

I see the appeal this game has but, it has way too many flaws to be truly enjoyable.
Game is way too flashy and graphics are blurry my eyes simply cannot focus (this is present on lower settings as well ).
Gameplay is repetitive, dumb and I do not see any gain when killing enemies. Stranding at once place with Wisp being healed and just shooting where I think enemies are ( I just cannot see them ), gets way too boring way too fast for me.
Story is ok but I did not come for the story, option to skip minutes of talk that I have 0 interest in would have been a nice feature in a game like this one, especially since I saw this once already.
The game is buggy as hell. In 2h of my playtime I managed to be stuck at boss fight, not being able to fire move or even press escape. I had to wait for boss to actually attack me and kill me so I can move, I got stuck in a wall while gliding, and one door did not want to open for me, my friends had to come back so the door would open for them. At least 3 times when entering a room floor vanished on me.

I understand where the praise from this game comes from, I remember playing on my old PC and it work flawlesly, graphics are amazing ( art direction or rather light placments and color palates are questionable at best ) and story is decent. But honestly unless you have low end PC like I used to have don't bother this game has no real goal, and if you want to smash buttons play Batman Arkham series they at least have depth and great ( not decent ) story.

This game has interesting characters, but sadly that is all that it has going for it.
Balance is questionable at best, matching system is abismal to the point that I was matched with players either way above my skill level or way below it.
Overall its good with friends horrible without

Shame this game is pretty much dead. I do not recommend playing it anymore.

After more then 1k hours I think I should finally edit my old review!

I main survivor so I can give you more honest opinion how the game is from that side of the matches and game:

1- Do not be afraid of the amount of DLC's there is in the game. Survivors are just skins and only a few perks from DLC's are "good" rest are niche. You can go by with just the base survivors and have no issues what so ever.
2- Solo queue is horrible experience, so maybe best to get some friends to get into this together.
3- With new changed to the game keep a look out on your left side of the screen, this will give you more then enough information.
4- Do not give up on this game early on!!!! Each killer is different and it will take time getting a grasp of their power, and even more time getting a grasp of their perks/strategies.

Now for killer side:
1- It is sadly pay to win. I do not know much about playing the killers, but the fact that each killer has their own power and perks, more often then not perks that work for some killers are behind a paywall.
2- Survivors can be bullies. Sadly, again do not give up this whole game is just one big pile of mindgames :)
