It's another hit from Jackbox Games. Devil and the Details is the only one that can't really be done remotely as it requires immediate breakout groups. Otherwise, Blather Round is a great take on taboo, Champ'd Up does a great job revamping the drawing system, and Talking Points makes speeches actually kinda fun. Quiplash is also as good as the previous versions, just no real notable changes.

Stunning game that beautifully illustrates the stages of grief. There's a light platforming element to the game play, and follows a linear story. The real reason to play it is for the phenomenal soundtrack, beautiful art style, and a powerful story you experience through the play through. There are no words to the game, which adds to just how universal this experience is for everyone.

Gameplay:
At it's core, it is a rogue-like dungeon crawler, where you begin to augment your character with dropped weapons and body parts (let's call it armor to be less gross). The gameplay is repetative like other reviewers have mentioned, wherein the combat itself isn't difficult, and the game pacing is a bit slow at times. It is an indie game, so there are bound to be some rough edges.

The Good:
- Fresh take on some existing concepts, like rogue-like, and character armor. They themed the benefits using creatures, and even making complete armor sets Act as a sort of camoflage (or so the preview showed)
- The humor in the game was a dry, and almost 4th wall breaking at times.

The Bad:
- I had some intermittent video freezes
- Weapon hit detection seemed a little off, but is managable after playing for a little bit

Bottom Line:
I got this as a part of a bundle, and after playing it I cannot say I'd have picked it up if not for that. But, since I own it, I will likely be coming back to play more.

To The Developer(s):
Keep doing your thing. It is fantastic that we even have people like you putting themselves out there to release original content. Some of the reviews were a bit hash, but shed light on ways you could improve this, or your future titles. Your game will never make everyone happy, and that's ok.

This game is a phenominal example of what platformers can become. The environment was simple and beautiful, the main hook of mechanics were very well executed. I do think the puzzles in this game could have pushed the mechanics a bit further. All in all Semblance is a very solid game.

Finally a worthy successor to Sim City. This game takes all the familiar elements of a childhood classic and gives them the moden feel and polish a new-ish game from an established development team ought to have. I was floored in minutes just by the options I had just to be able to lay roads. For anyone who enjoys a simulation game this is a must buy.

I did notice the game really lets you make a lot of mistakes, and I couldn't find a tutorial for the game anywhere. Having a basic knowledge of indicators, tools, needs, and whatnot of a city sim already, I wasn't at a complete loss. They do have a very helpful guide system baked into the game. However, I still feel the game could have held my hand a little more to get my city started. Explain some indicators, pitfalls, requirements, etc. Despite all that, it seems the game is forgiving enough to allow you to make some of these mistakes and still recover with minimal long term damage.

If you are new to the genre, I recommend finding a how-to guide, but otherwise this game is visually stunning, carefully thought out, and pure joy to play.

Like a more complicated harvest moon, and that's a good thing. While it isn't as simple, it added some depth that the game was lacking, including a simple hack and slack system.

If you enjoyed Harvest moon this game is a must have.

Wonderful game! If you like games like Zelda, or Ittle Dew, this is the game for you. Hack 'n' Slash bring some comedy to the gameplay with quirky character design, and somewhat whitty dialogue. The gameplay is as the title suggests, a hack and slash. BUT, the twist is your sword won't do any damage, instead you'll have to manipulate the game as you play, rewriting pieces of code to suit your needs at that time. This is definitely for someone who might have an aptitude for understanding code (or looking up walkthroughs).

Towards the end, there is a LOT of room for mistake, and I even caused the game to crash a number of times beacuse hacked together buggy code. It would seem Lua doesn't like my "creative" solutions to the problems at hand. But the autosave feature is well implemented, and when you resume a game, you pick at what point in space time you wish to continue, so I was never left stranded, nor did I have to start over.

All in all if you take your time to enjoy the game, it will last for 6 - 8 hours, which left me a little wanting when the credits started to roll. I hope Double FIne will double down and incorporate this unique gameplay aspect in another game.
