Shadow fans finally get to eat well.
The Edgehog is finally capable of saying he's playable in a good game with a banging soundtrack.

There is a lot to love in this game, there really is.
It is absurdly fun with friends, the game is gorgeous in just about any pc, gameplay can be addicting, the devs had many opportunities to monetize things which they didn't and have been working non-stop for the past month to fix and adjust things.
It has its problems, it is still fairly unbalanced in higher difficulties, and it can be glitchy sometimes, and things like character dialogue aren't as charming and as consistent as they could be, but these are relative problems that don't subtract that much from this game.

Overall this game is a blast specially if you have people you can play with, which I understand it isn't everyone, but what people must understand is that this IS a co-op game, and that doesn't make you entitled to just win no matter what on your own in all difficulties with no coordination. People also need to understand that despite being a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead THIS GAME IS NOT LEFT 4 DEAD and it should NOT be judged for NOT BEING L4D.

I recommend it to anyone that is a fan of shooters and zombies, but if you think it isn't worthy of full price, just buy it at a discount when you can.

This game is pretty, and it's easy, and that's about it. Everything that could be generic is; it has no reason to have a multiplayer, yet it does, probably because there's so little game in it. I could recommend it, but after trying to achievement hunt the single player stuff after I was done with the main story made me realize what a mess with no thought it is; also apparently a lot of people online have had problems with those achievements unlocking too. What enemies respawn when and what counts towards what is completely messed up and you have no way to track progress of combat related achievements; meaning you'd have to replay story mode from scratch again with specific goals in mind and track them yourself, and even then without being sure of it. Even if you were to discount achievements I had plenty of problems with the "instinct view" working and the climbing physics were ubisoft bad at some points and glitched hard.

You've played slow Dark Souls. You played the bad Dark Souls. You've played blood lubricated Dark Souls. You might have even played the slightly better Dark Souls.
It's time for you to try Dark Souls on cocaine with a grapplin' hook.

A blast from the past with vibrant colors, amazing sound-track and "well, maybe just one more" gameplay. Can get pretty trippy but it's also pretty addicting and a good time waster. Also an easy target for achievement hunters.

One of the most iconic plataformers of all time finally gets the respect it deserves from their makers by not only releasing a very reasonably priced collection but also adding new content to it in the form of double boss battle challenges, a song playlist for its amazing OST and character bios.
Good for newcomers, great for long time fans.

I don't really know what other people think of this game. Is one of the few the Sonic fandom isn't really loud about. I personally think that if they fused both episodes together in this art style and removed the stupid Boss Rush achievement from the first one, it would probably be one of if not the most solid entry in the Sonic series.

The main game won't provide more than 20 something hours of gameplay, which means this game will stay fresh all the way through even if it is not that long. It controls well and the nemesis system is one of the best things in gaming in the past decade. Voice acting and SFX in general are on point, and so is the music. The DLC could add their missions to the main game instead of being modes, since there are no new maps, and the game could do with more variety, but that's nitpicking.
My complaints would be only about polish when it comes to the challenges, where most players would probably get frustrated about the time trials and badges. Not because it somehow makes the game harder or that the time given are unfair, but because the faster you try to do stuff, the more you'll run into walls, find yourself stuck on a particular wall or object, find out how much you hate the "auto aiming" you'll do when you are trying to finish a chief, or grab him with your Graug and your character will keep going for the grunts, falling from your Graug (and staying on air flailing about for 5 seconds), having each enemy introduce themselves in a "speedrun" is kind of against the whole point of a speedrun. However these things do not break the game in anyway, neither make those achievements impossible.
TL;DR: It's great even if you don't like LotR
