I started playing screeps world a couple years ago and fell in love with the concept of a persistent world for tower defense with behavior mechanics limited only by your imagination and the ways you can use the language. Ended up logging over a 1k hours. I bought screeps arena because I couldn't find another game that quite scratched the same itch.

Pros
Screeps arena has all the depth that comes with programming your units and structures but it takes you straight to the action. Often in world, the game progresses rather slow and travel takes time. Often by the time creeps reach their destination you risk not observing them at the right time if you get distracted. This makes developing combat code in screeps world a hassle. Arena fixes all that by operating as fast as 20 ticks per second and drops you into an arena with other players on demand.

Cons
As mentioned the client is a little buggy and sometimes the map doesn't render and you have to restart the client. The API is also incomplete relative to what you might be used to in screeps world but often mechanics can be somewhat inferred from screeps world and vice versa.

Its everything that made KCD 1 great - the bugs + more content. Absolute masterpiece, haven't enjoyed a game so much since Oblivion

Ive played Bethesda games since morrowind and I wanted to like this game and reserved judgement. Game still sucks. They didnt release it with the construction kit and it just felt like the world was bigger than the content 100x over.

Best game of 2023 hands down. The detail in the game is just stunning. At one point towards the end of the game there is a "mind reader" which lets you speak with brains suspended in fluid. This reader can be used to talk with brains in a jar all the way back from the start of the game. This is just one of the examples of bespoke craftsmanship that is inlaid all over the game. Truly a piece of art, as much as it is a game.

Was looking for a new arcade racing game on steam and wasn't able to find anything until I ran into Riders Republic. Great game that allows you to race and trick on skateboards, bikes, snowboards, skis, and jet packs. Huge open world map with thousands of other players in real time!

Ever wonder what it would feel like to be Shrunk like in Hunny I shrunk the kids? That's basically the game, your stuck in a backyard all tiny like and you have to survive and unravel the mystery of why you were shrunk. Playing with friends is a blast, but equally as fun; playing alone like Alan from Jumanji
